"Pardon? Did I do something wrong? I've been sitting down all this time," Graven said, keeping his hands intertwined in front of him.The man in front of me lifted up his hand and placed it in front of the gun, forcing me lower the gun from his face. His eyebrows furrowed as he took a deep breath while still keeping his hand on my gun.
Was he being stupid? I could easily shoot him if I wanted to. What made him think I wouldn't?
"I'm sending you to hell for this now, Graven," the man said as he glanced his stern eyes towards Graven.
Graven laughed, clapping as he stood from his seat.
"I did nothing more than tell her the truth of your lies and deceiving strategies, and I'm not just talking about recent events," Graven said as he began to walk around the room with his arms rested behind his lower back.
The man with Violet Eyes followed Graven with his eyes while glancing a few times to me whenever Graven had gone out of view. I shook my gun to try and get his hand, which he did, but I still kept it low as he had left it. A shot to his chest wouldn't be that bad compared to a shot to the head, right?
"We only want one single thing. Is that too difficult to understand? "Graven asked, keeping the rest of the spectators on their heels and with wide, open eyes.
"Then sign the treaty. If that's what you want, do it."
"And to be tied to your commands? I don't think so. What happen to liberty?" Graven asked, wanting someone from the League of Crowns to answer this time around.
"Liberty? Are you sure you're using the right word ?" The man sarcastically asked.
Graven signaled for me to come down from the table with his eyes and I did, keeping my gun up for any possible attack.
The guy I had fought, the one that had stopped us from killing the 4th member counsel, stood up, going to stand next to the guy with the Violet Eyes.
"I can assure you that she doesn't miss you one single bit," Graven said as he kissed me on the cheek. I stared back for a minute but regained my composure since we were standing right in front of the enemies.
"You make me sick," the guy who I had fought said as he looked on in disgust," you are the blame of all this. Because of you-" he cut off as if he were to say something he shouldn't. The man with Violet Eyes glanced at him in question for his sudden cut speech.
"If I am to sign the papers, where is the 4th member of your council?" Graven asked, glancing around looking for the man. There were also head-turning in the lot which made me think that they hadn't even noticed the 4th member missing.
"He's currently playing a game of golf in the beach," the man with Violet Eyes responded with a devilish smile and that certainly blew Graven off.
"We must hear it from her," a voice said from the crowd. A woman around her late 40's said as she stepped forward while another old man tried to hold her back. "If there is going to be an agreement, let's do it in a civil way, in other words, no more playing games, Graven."
"My,my. And who said I was playing games? " Graven furiously asked as he stretched out his hands towards the rest of the guests. "Sit, please," he said with a much calmer tone in his voice.
Everyone took their seats and in less than five minutes, everything had gone back to how it was before, as if nothing had ever happened. So they tried to seem it didn't.
