Kris pov

When Tao tumbles through the window a surprised look passes his face, seeing me wide awake. A look of determination flashes through his face, thinking that somehow he will talk his way out of this confrontation. He might have even succeeded, that is if he hadn't fainted. I grabbed him before he hit the ground. Concern fills my head. Tao is all bruised up. I cant find anywhere where there isnt a cut or blackish blue bruises. Maybe I should call the others... But what happened!? He had been sneaking out for a while now but never came back looking like this. I made the decision to wait for his explanation. Gently I pick him up and smile a little. For someone who eats so much he is relatively light. Putting him on his bed I gently remove his shoes. Pulling the covers on Tao I sit down next to him. I brush my hands threw his soft, ink black hair, like the way my mum used to when I had troubled nights. I missed her so much. It was like a constant ache in my chest. Life in Korea I dare say was boring and repetitive. Everything predictable, everything dull. Well,that is except for a snippy sassquatch in the form of a brooding boy. I smile even thinking of the things he says. thinkin back to this morning;

"Im filing a complaint against you, I had to get ready in like 5 minutes Kris!" I just ruffle his hair and smirk.

"I keep telling you if your so keen on showering you can always join me."

" but thats not the point, you need to be fair and I dont want to shower with you!" I feign a hurt expression.

" But the ghosts dont come when there are two of us." He stays silent, but then whimpers,

"G-ghosts?" I do feel a bit guilty. Who knew he would be afraid of ghosts. But alas its written all over his face. I gotta go before I say something to make it worse.

" Well see ya then if you really are that annoyed with me." I hear frantic footsteps and Tao clings onto my shirt.

" Kris wait up!" The whole day he held on tight and never left my side.

I smile thinking back at those small moments of innocence. They are rather...endearing. Im brought out of my thoughts when I hear Tao whimper. Hes crying in his sleep. Tears stream down his face and Tao has a pained expression.

"Wǒ bùxiǎng dúzì yīrén, Hǎo tòng, Hǎo tòng,"  He repeats this in Mandarin again and again

"Dont leave me alone, it hurts, it hurts." My heart constricts and I feel a flutter in my chest. I hold his upturned hands in mine.

"Dont worry Tao, I wont leave you."
