chapter nineteen

-Chloe's Perspective-

I couldn't help but think I was going insane.

There's three boys that I'm going bazooka for.

I mean, I absolutely LOVE Ashton, but I wish I hadn't fallen for that perfect, cute, adoring, amazing, best friend.

And then there's Calum. The typical punk guy. The wise boy that burns himself to hide his pain. The ripped jean and black vans cutie.

But then there's Luke, the amazingly hot blonde quiffed boy that I didn't know ANYTHING about.

UGH.

I stare out the window, my cat purring at me as it slithers its body around me legs.

"I haven't even named you yet, im such a bad owner."

Yea, I talk to my cat...

It meowed, me carrying it up to my lap.

"What do you wanna be named? Furry? Fluffy? Cat?"

The cat didn't meow this time.

"I guess thats a no, right?"

I have no idea why I thought of this, but I felt like mixing named into one for my cat...

How ridiculous. Oh what boredom can do to me.

Ashton. Calum. Luke.

How can I put that into one?...

Never mind. Wow. Im an idiot.

Lets just name him....

Leroy.

Yea Leroy thats fine. Nothing big, nothing small. Just Leroy.

-Next Day-

Therapy was the same today.

I stared at Luke. Calum stared at me. I look away and think of Ashton.

But today, Calum's eyes wanted to tell me something. And so we waited after therapy to talk.

But meanwhile, I just kept thinking of Ashton.

I had to see him today. At least that. I knew I was planning to stop loving Ashton- because he deserves a better person. I wasn't good enough.

But I really needed an Ashton hug.

There were five minutes left on the clock till therapy ended. And I look helplessly from Luke to Calum.

In a matter of minutes, Luke's blue eyes finally looked up from his cellphone, meeting with my own.

I could feel a deeply strange feeling in my stomache as we locked stare.

I bit my lip, him growing a teasingly small smile.

I smiled back- maybe a little to quickly.

I just couldn't help it. Luke's smile was like summer. You just don't want to see it go away so quickly.

But his 'summer' smile vanished within seconds.

We both look away.

"Okay class. You're dismissed." Mrs. Hemmings said.

I got up from my seat, passing the doorframe without looking at anyone this time.

I guess I got lost in my thoughts, that I hadn't even noticed the gentle pull on my shoulder.

"Chloe." I turned to see Calum.

Oh God, he was even cuter up close.

"Yea?" I replied quite low.

But without answering back, Calum took me by the hand, pulling me through the hospital halls.

-Ashton's Perspective-

*AN HOUR BEFORE*

I picked up my phone, searching for Mrs. Jenkins in my contact list. Finding her number, I touch the dial button.

One ring.

Two.

Three..

"Hello?"

"Oh hi Mrs. Jenkins, I just called to ask you something."

"And that is..?"

"Um.. well I was wondering if I could pick Chloe up from therapy today." I waited nervously, tapping my foot.

"Of course you can. Just drop her off before 2pm."

"Thank you so much Mrs. Jenkins." I sighed in relief.

"Oh no. Thank you Ashton. Have a nice afternoon."

"You too."

I hung up, smiling really hard.

I got my keys and drove.

I nearly died as I watched a boy take Chloe down the halls by hand.

She didn't look happy nor did she look sad though.

But the boy with black ripped jeans and vans look happier than anything.

He loved her. Just like I loved Chloe.

Had she not listened to my recording though?

And to think that Chloe loved me.

How stupider could you be Ashton?

I look away, my heart nearly broken.

Broken into a million pieces of hopeless glass.
