Jongin's POV

I was rendered speechless by Sehun's sudden confession, while Tao just burst out laughing.

"Oh my god, that's so disgustingly adorable," he muffled his laughs with a hand covering his mouth, walking closer to Sehun and turning him around. He pinched his cheeks.

"You. Are. So. Cute." Sehun looked dazed from the action, and Tao just continued.

"Jongin, you better treat this cutie right. If you don't, I'll steal him and kick you out," Tao stuck his tongue out childishly, making me roll my eyes.

"I know, hyung," I whined, pulling Sehun close and leading him towards my room, since somebody had decided to sell our couch.

"I'm putting him to bed, he needs rest. I'll be out in a second, I still have to know the reason for the loss of our only couch," I scoffed, gently lying Sehun down on my queen sized bed and pulling the covers over him. I watched him for a moment, scanning my eyes over every inch of his face.

"What have I done to deserve you?" I mumbled to myself, hesitantly leaning over and leaving a short kiss on his forehead.

"You can finally get some sleep, I'll be here when you wake up, okay?" I caressed his cheek, quietly making my way to the door, pausing when I remembered something.

"By the way, it's Jongin. Not Baekhyun,"

---

"How's our sleeping beauty doing?" Tao chuckled when I came out of my room.

"Completely knocked out. And will be for at least a few hours," I hummed, looking at him expectantly.

"Right, right. Come, follow me." He twisted the basement door open, smirking at me one last time before starting down the stairs. I stared after him suspiciously, surprised when I noticed the walls were now coated with sky blue paint.

Wasn't it white, like, yesterday?

I shrugged absently, quickly jogging down the steps when Tao called my name. I gasped when I reached the bottom.

"N-No way..." Was all that I managed to stutter out, taking in everything all at once.
I never imagined that our old and unused basement could make such a transformation. The cold, concrete floor was now covered by mahogany wood planks. The walls that were barely painted have now been coloured a pure white, and in one of the corners sat a number of bean bag chairs. The most alluring parts of the new look, were the mirrors that stuck to all four walls.

"Well? You like?" Tao bit back a smile, hands on his hips proudly. My mouth was agape, and I stared right at him.

"Tao... Did you do this?" I choked out, frozen on the spot. He smiled slyly, shrugging his shoulders.

"Maybe. With the help of some friends, of course. One of them being--surprise! Jongdae." He giggled at my bewildered expression, throwing an arm around my shoulders.

"You--when did he--"

"Well, he didn't physically help, but he made all the arrangements. He always knew you best, huh?" Tao smiled genuinely, ruffling my hair.

"I..don't know what to say.. But why?" I took a deep breath, looking at my surroundings one more time to make sure this wasn't a dream. My friend who I've know even before I met Jongdae, only smiled.

"Did you really think I'd forget? Idiot, what's the day after tomorrow?" He rolled his eyes teasingly, and I widened my own. Oh.
