You had Hanji in your last class, and as she started dragging you to the front of the school.
"Sorry, Hanji," you said, breaking out of her death grip. "I've got something I have to do today. You guys can go home without me."
Hanji tilted her head to the side, her bangs falling over her glasses. "You sure?"
You nodded, forcing a smile. "I'll see you tomorrow, okay?"
"Sure thing, (y/n)!" Hanji shouted, giving you a quick hug before jogging off with a wave.
Taking a deep breath, you went to your locker, ready to wait for Eren, but he was already there.
"Hey," he said, grinning. "Sorry. Hope you don't mind, but I asked Sasha where your locker was."
"It's fine," you said, but your face was pale.
"(Y/n)? Are you feeling okay?"
"I'm fine," you said.
You didn't feel fine.

Eren said that he knew of a show that was screening at a near movie theater, and you let him lead the way. The closer you got to the movie theater, the more colorless your face grew, and your breathing became labored. Your legs began shaking with each step, and your hands felt clammy as you quickly checked your fevered forehead.
Outside the movie theater, Eren turned back and looked at you, his eyes widening in surprise. "(Y/n)? Are you okay?"
"I'm...Let's just get this over with," you murmured, too miserable to even pretend that you were okay.
Eren hesitated, looking nervous. "Are you sure, (y/n)? If you don't feel well..."
You imagined wearing a teddy bear outfit, and that only made you feel more sick. "I'M OKAY! LET'S GO IN!" you yelled, already pulling ahead and going in.
Eren followed and jogged up to the counter so he could pay for the tickets, and then the two of you went into the theater.
You chose seats close to the back, eyeing the exit and calculating how far you'd have to run if (when) necessary. You sat down in your seat slowly, eyes never leaving that bright red sign pointing towards heaven, and Eren sat down next to you, observing your state of petrified panic.
"So, you really don't like scary movies," he said slowly, and you flinched.
"W-what m-made y-you think something like t-that?" you asked, your voice coming out unnaturally high.
He laughed softly before abruptly stopping. "Sorry, that was rude of me. It's just...it's kind of cute." He immediately blushed and looked away, and maybe you would have reacted, but you were too scared.
You were about to reply when the lights dimmed, and out of instinctive panic, you grabbed his hand, holding it tightly.
"Eren?"
"Yeah?" He sounded quiet.
"If I try to run, trip me and drag me back, okay?" you asked.
He looked as though he thought you were kidding. "(Y/n), you're going to be fine, okay? I'm right here."
"Remember, Eren: trip and drag, okay?"
The movie started. The plot was about a young guy who fell in love with a girl, but the problem was that the girl's older brother was a psychopath.
Right now, the boy was at the girlfriend's house because he'd gotten a text from her phone...
"But he doesn't know that the brother sent it," I moaned softly. The boy knocked on the door and, after a moment, tried the knob and found that it was unlocked.
"Euphemia? I'm coming in!" he announced, going inside the house...
"But her brother's inside!!" you whisper-shouted, grabbing Eren's hand even tighter. You felt like you were going to suffocate. Why oh why did I ever agree to this?
Of course, the boy couldn't walk quickly and get it all over with; instead, he moved to take off his shoes before standing up and calling for his girlfriend a few times. Then he took deliberately slow steps towards the stairs.
"He's in her room!" you whispered, your nails digging into Eren's skin, but he didn't say anything.
The background music came in softly, dissonant chords setting the mood as the boy climbed the stairs, one at a time.
Finally, after forever, he got to the girl's room. "Euphemia?" he asked, and then again more softly. "Euphemia?" He reached for the knob as the violins cresendoed on a diminished tone over an augmented chord, and then he opened the door and took a step inside.
Immediately, the brother lunged for him with a knife, his eyes wide and lit with excitement as he laughed.
"EEEEeeeeek!" you screamed, and you stood up and tried to run, ignoring the few looks you got from other people.
"Sorry, (y/n)," Eren said, wincing before standing up and blocking your way.
You didn't care about the obstruction in your path; on the screen, the psychopath was slashing away and blood was spurting and YOU NEEDED TO BE IN A SAFE ZONE! You tried to push past him, but in order to restrain you, he wrapped his arms around you and hugged.
"Let...me...go!" you yelled, no longer concerned about being quiet.
"Sorry, (y/n), but it's for your own good."
"But I can't...take it...anymore." After a moment, your eyes rolled back into your head, and you went limp in his arms. He held you for a few more seconds before gently resting you back in your seat.

He stayed with you the whole movie and woke you up when it ended. "(Y/n), it's time to go now," he whispered, shaking you gently, and you opened your eyes, looking around at the no-longer-dark theater.
"Oh my gosh, did I really pass out?" you asked, embarrassed.
He hesitated before smiling and nodded. "Yeah, you fell asleep because it was so boring."
You grinned as the two of you walked out. "Wow! Did I really make it through the movie? I've never seen a full scary movie before!" You looked at the ground. "I always run out mid-way. It's just too scary!"
He grinned. "You were there the whole time, I promise!"
You smiled at him. "Well, thanks for taking me! I'll pay you back tomorrow, okay?"
"It's fine," he said, smiling back at you. "My treat."
By now, the two of you were outside the movie theater, and the sky was just beginning to approach dusk.
"Well, thanks for today, Eren! I'll see you at school tomorrow!"
With a wave, you walked off.
~from Eren's POV~
I watched as (y/n) walked away. I didn't want to lie to her, but she looked so proud of herself...
My phone started ringing, and after checking the caller ID, you answered it.
"Hey, Hanji. It's Eren."
"Of course it's you, silly," she responded, laughing, and I laughed along with her, even though I didn't really get it. "Anyhow, how'd it go?"
"Huh?"
"The movie. What, you didn't think I'd find out what my friend (y/n) was doing after school?"
I swallowed. "It wasn't like that. She said there was a-"
"A bet," Hanji finished. "And if she lost, she was going to have to dress as a teddy bear! Don't you want to see that?"
You were quiet, not trusting your voice to not betray your inner thoughts...
"Well, anyhow, did you see (y/n) home?"
"Eh? No, she just left," you said, looking towards the way she'd gone, but you couldn't see her anymore.
"EREN! YOU LET HER GO HOME ALONE?!" Hanji yelled, and you winced, pulling the phone away from your ear.
"Yeah? What's wrong with that?"
"EREN, (Y/N) HAS NO SENSE OF DIRECTION!"
