Epilogue

10 months later...

Huminga sya ng malalim bago pumasok sa loob. Mapakla syang napangiti. Agad nya itong nakita. Nanatili sya sa pwesto nya. Hindi na sya nagtangka pang lumapit dito katulad ng dati. Kuntento na syang pinapanuod na lang ito sa malayo. Nasasaktan man ay hindi nya napigilang mapangiti ng makita nya itong ngumiti. He's happy in a twisted way. After all that he've been through, he deserve every happiness the world can offer.

"Hi, Kuya. Katulad ng pangako ko, nandito lang ako." Malungkot na bulong nya habang pinapanuod lang ito. Pinagmasdan nya ang paligid. Gusto nyang maiyak pero pinigilan nya.

Ibinalik nila sa Mental Institution ang kuya nya. He's been there for nine months. Hindi nito kinaya.

Napatingin sya sa mga pasyente sa loob ng kwarto. Ginawa na nila ang lahat ng kaya nila. But his kuya chose to live in his own fantasy. He chose to be with her.

And Aubrey was her name,
A not so very ordinary girl or name
But who's to blame?

Napatingin sya sa Kuya nya ng marinig ang kanta. May speaker rin sa loob ng kwarto. Nakita nya na natulala ito.

For a love that wouldn't bloom
For the hearts that never played in tune.

Halos madurog ang puso nya ng makita ang pangangatog nito. Naalala nya ng kinakanta pa ito ng Kuya nya sa Ate Aubrey nya.

Like a lovely melody that everyone can sing,
Take away the words that rhyme it doesn't mean a thing.

He saw him rocking himself. Pinunasan nya ang pisngi nya ng maramdaman ang pagpatak ng luha nya.

And Aubrey was her name,
We tripped the light and danced together to the moon,
But where was June.

It was so painful to see him like this. He was his hero. His bestfriend. His brother.

No it never came around.
If it did it never made a sound.
Maybe I was absent or was listening to fast,
Catching all the words, but then the meaning going past,

He always look up to him. Palagi itong nasa tabi nya noon. Palaging nakaalalay sa kanya.

But God I miss the girl,
And I'd go a thousand times around the world just to be
Closer to her than to me.

Ito na ang tumayong ama nya. He was always there to protect him. He was always there to keep him safe.

And Aubrey was her name,
I never knew her, but I loved her just the same,
I loved her name.

So seeing him like this, crying, longing for something that he could never have, breaks his heart.

Wish that I had found the way
And the reasons that would make her stay.
I have learned to lead a life apart from all the rest.
I can't have the one I want, I'll do without the best.

Nakita nyang tila may kinakausap ang kuya nya. Masakit. Sobrang sakit.

But how I miss the girl
And I'd go a million times around the world just to say
She had been mine for a day.

But if this is the only way for him to be happy, hindi na nya ito guguluhin pa. He wish na sana nga ay nandon ang Ate Aubrey nya. Na baka nga ang Kuya lang nya ang nakakakita rito.

"I love you, Kuya. Nandito lang ako." Bulong nya rito bago tumalikod at naglakad palayo.

Tsaka lang sya nakahinga ng maluwag ng makalabas sa building na iyon. He felt the wind caressed his face. Napangiti sya.

"He missed you so much, Ate Aubrey. Sayang, gustong-gusto ka pa naman namin para kay Kuya. Watch over him for us, will you? I hope things happened differently. Pero tanggap ko na. I hope one day matanggap din nya. Matanggap nyang wala ka na. Nami-miss na din po kita. But he missed you more." Bulong nya sa kawalan.

Then the wind blew once again.

Bad things happen. Some things are out of our control.

Akala nya noon love can either make us or break us. It can either make us happy or make us sad.

But sometimes love can drive us crazy. It surely does with his brother.
