"Goodbye Luna, stay safe," Chelsea shouted as she left the house with Peter to go on some sort of demon hunting mission I was too inexperienced to join.

I told myself I would try to, remembering the last time I was home alone. Lydia had come and it was only thanks to Haiden that I had come out of her visit alive. Thinking about how Haiden would no longer see me, I realized I was on my own. There was no one left to save me.

I thought of Blake then, remembering how he had told me he'd keep me safe. Sighing, I knew that wasn't the case anymore. Blake had been making it a habit to always be out when I was home, just to avoid me. Admittedly it hurt, but I also felt like it was for the best - for now.

Realizing I had the next five hours to myself, I sighed and went to the kitchen, wanting to make myself dinner. Chelsea had been about to, but suddenly she got a call, telling her that their was an attack nearby that was serious. The roof of the house was burning so they had a feeling Saniya, the Indian girl, had caused it. Since she could turn into a pheonix, they were sure of it.

I went into the kitchen and began to bite my lip as I wondered what I would make. With everything going on I had lost most of my appetite due to distress, so I decided to just make myself a sandwich. Although I wasn't crazy about them, I had to eat dinner and it was the only thing I was willing to make.

Going to the fridge, I grabbed bread, cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes. I dropped the bread into the toaster and began to cut slices of cheese. As I sliced, I thought about the men in my life.

Something I couldn't help but notice was that every guy in my life I had somehow lost. Dad was in jail, Haiden was in a criminal gang, and Blake hated me. Somehow, without trying to, I repelled guys and I sighed lightly. Maybe after everything was over, I'd forget about guys for a while.

Suddenly, as I went to grab a tomato, I heard a crash by the front door. Whirling around, I saw that the door was now lying on the ground and Lydia was standing on top of it, grinning madly. Dashawn soon came to her side, his face expressionless, and my jaw dropped. I had the worst luck.

Lydia and Dashawn began to walk towards me and I mentally slapped myself as I realized my bow and arrow was back at the demon hunters headquarters. I was on my own and with Haiden staying out of my life, I was going to have to fight this battle alone. It was two against one, so I had no confidence whatsoever on winning.

Grabbing the knife I used to cut the cheese, I held it with both hands in front of me, making sure they knew I wouldn't go down without a fight. Lydia smirked at that, looking amused. Dashawn simply looked bored - as usual.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, once they stepped onto the kitchen tiles.

"You know what we want," Lydia said, rolling her eyes. "We've been over this a hundred times."

Staring at her, I couldn't help but look at her leg that had once been shot. She was wearing jeans and I noticed there was a bulge at the spot she had been wounded at. Lydia still wasn't completely healed it seemed, so I knew I could use that to my advantage.

"You guys won't get whatever you want," I said. "I'll make sure of that."

Lydia raised her eyebrows. "Since when did you think you could go against us?"

    "Since now."

I threw the knife at Lydia and watched as she caught it with ease. But before she could say anything, I grabbed the tomato next to me and threw it at her head. It hit her forehead, causing her to wince. For those few seconds, I quickly went to the drawer and grabbed another knife.

"You bitch," Lydia sneered. "What the hell? Did you think a tomato could stop me from killing you?"

"Lydia," Dashawn said. "We're not going to kill her. Remember that."

Lydia rolled her eyes and I frowned. They weren't going to kill me? Why?

Lydia suddenly ran forwards, going straight at me. I rolled to the side as she tried to punch me and held the knife towards her, causing her to jump back. Her eyes went wide and I knew I had surprised her. She didn't think I had any training when it came to fighting.

"Must have joined the demon hunters," Lydia muttered, lunging at me again.

I dropped to the ground and she went flying above me. But she landed on her feet perfectly and annoyance was written across her face. She looked like she was about to go serious.

Lydia walked over to me and she punched, so I ducked to my right. Her other hand then went flying at me and hit my stomach, causing me to gasp. I fell to the ground in pain and Lydia stood above me, smirking. She seemed to be enjoying my pain and like the dirty fighter I was, I punched her where she got shot. Lydia let out a piercing scream at that.

Scrambling to my feet, I watched as Lydia dropped to the ground to hug her leg. She glared at me and to my surprise, her eyes were watering. For a mere second I felt guilty for hurting her, but then I remembered how she would've killed me.

    "Dashawn," Lydia whimpered. "Do something."

Suddenly, I was grabbed from behind and lifted off the ground. Flailing, I tried to get out of Dashawn's grip, but he was too strong. I couldn't believe he was behind me, holding me by my waist. Although he was huge, he was as quiet as a cat.

Before I could scream or get free, I was hit on the head by his fist. Everything went black and all I could remember was being in intense pain.

"That bitch is so annoying," Lydia whined. "Why is she coming with us to our hideout?"

"Taylor's order," Daswhan said. "Don't ask me."

I groaned and slowly peeled my eyes open. When they were opened, I realized I wasn't in my house. I was in an unfamiliar car and gasping, I saw Lydia was next to me. She was staring at me, her eyes full of hate, and I looked around and saw Dashawn was driving.

"What am I doing here?" I asked, confused.

Shocked, I tried to recall what happened. My head was throbbing so it was hard to focus, but I had an idea that Lydia and Dashawn had attacked me and won the battle. From what Lydia said, I realized they were taking me hostage. My heart dropped.

"Shut up," Lydia said, slapping me.

My cheek began to sting and my eyes began to water. Everything hurt and fear filled me. I had no idea what was going on.

"You're taking me hostage?" I asked, even though I shouldn't be talking. "Why?"

"Didn't I tell you to shut up," Lydia snapped.

"We couldn't find what we want," Dashawn said, surprising me. "So we decided we're going to use you to make a bargain with the demon hunters."

My eyes went wide. Knowing Peter and Chelsea, they would agree to whatever The Demons wanted to get from them. For me, they would do anything. Guilt filled me as I realized I would be the reason why the demon hunters lost their battle.

"Dashawn!" Lydia exclaimed, seeming surprised. "Why did you tell her?"

    "Why didn't you?"

    "Because... Because I hate her!"

I was suddenly hit on the head again and everything went black. I didn't wake up the entire car ride to wherever they were taking me.
