I walked up to the house I hadn't been in for three years. I really didn't want to meet Ella but I didn't have a choice. David didn't answer when I called so I had to come here. I tapped with my foot, waiting for Ella to open the door.
I really wanted Andy to be here right now but he insisted that he and Emma would meet us at the mall so that David and I could talk things over.
I just hoped that he wouldn't be too angry.
Ella opened the door and looked at me with an angry look.
"Hello Elizabeth", she said with her cold, emotionless voice. "Why are you here?"
"I'm here to pick up David", I said.
"No."
"Excuse me?" I asked.
"I told you years ago, you're not welcomed here anymore. And I won't let him meet you."
"You can't do that", I snapped. "He's my brother."
"I don't care. As long as he lives here, I'm the one who decides who he's going to meet and not."
"Well I couldn't care less about that. I'm gonna see him", I said and walked pass her.
I ran upstairs to David's room. He sat on his bed with his laptop in his lap.
"Come on Dave, we're leaving", I said when I walked into his room.
"Liz, what are you doing here?" he asked.
"We're going to mall, remember?" I smiled.
"I don't want to go", he muttered.
I heard Ella's loud footsteps going towards the stairs.
"Please Dave", I pleaded.
"Why?"
"Because I want to spend time with you. I haven't seen you in a year", I said.
"That's your own fault. You're the one who left us here", he said hand looked me in the eyes for the first time.
"What? David can we please talk about this in the car? Please?"
Ella walked into the room. "David you're not going anywhere."
He looked at Ella and then me. He started to write in his notebook and showed it to me.
Okay, let's go.
Ella tried to stop us from going but I just pushed her away and then we ran to the car.
"Have you stopped speaking again?" I asked when we sat in the car.
"No I just won't talk around her", he said and pointed towards the house.
I started the car and drove away.
"Will he be there?" he asked.
"Yes", I said.
"Why?"
"Because I want him there. And I really think that you two should get to know each other", I said.
"I don't want to know him. Not after what he did to you", he said.
"Dave, all that happened three years ago. You have to get over that. Look, I might not have realized that back then but Andy never did anything", I said.
"He left you", he said.
"Not really", I said.
He looked at me and I could see that he didn't understand what I meant. That was when I realized that I'd never told him about what really happened. David just thought that Andy left me.
"He went on tour. I was pissed about it and broke all the connection between us. So I guess that it was me who left him", I explained.
"Really?" David said surprised. "Wow, now I feel kinda bad for punching him like that."
"Don't", I chuckled. "Andy and I forgave each other. Maybe it's time that you forgive him too."
"Yeah I guess so", he said.
"Thanks kiddo", I smiled. "So how's life?"
"Pretty good actually. I'm moving out next week so it'll be a lot better then", he said.
"What? You can't move. Where are you going to live?" I asked.
"I bought an apartment", he chuckled.
"You're way too young to do that", I said.
"Liz, I'm eighteen now, I can do whatever I want", he said .
"What? You're not eighteen. You're like… sixteen", I said.
"Really Liz? You don't even know how old your own brother is?"
"Wow… what happened?" I mumbled.
It was kinda difficult for me to understand how old he really was. To me, he would always be that little kid. But he wasn't. He was a grown man now.
"You went on tour and never came back", he chuckled.
Guilt started to come over me. I had never thought about it like that before. I just left him there with Ella while I was on tour and Emma went to college.
"I'm sorry kiddo. I've never thought about it like that", I said.
"It's okay Liz. I knew that you had to follow your dream", he smiled.
We arrived to the mall. I texted Andy to say that we were here and that we would meet them at the pizzeria. Emma and Andy sat at the table we always used to sit at when we ate there.
"Hey kiddo", Emma said when David sat down next to her.
"Hi babe", Andy said to me and kissed me. "We've already ordered the pizza."
"Good", I smiled.
"Uhm Andy, I just wanted to say that I'm really sorry about yesterday", David said.
"It's okay", Andy smiled.
We got our pizza and had just started to eat it when we heard someone scream: "Look! It's Andy Six and Liz White!"
We looked at the direction the sound came from and saw a big group of girls pointing towards us. They started to run towards us.
Andy and I looked at each other. "RUN!" we yelled at the same time and then ran away.
"By the way, it's Biersack!" Andy yelled to the girls.
