I sat on the stairs to Josh's apartment and waited for him to come back home. He'd been gone all day and I started to worry about him. He never used to be gone such long time.

Well, I also waited for Seth to pick me up because we were going to play a little acoustic set at some bar tonight.

I saw someone walk down the street. It was Josh.

"Where have you been?" I asked and started to walk towards him.

"Different places", he mumbled .

He stopped walking when we met each other. I looked up in his eyes. Something was wrong. It was like he was there but at the same time not. That wasn't the eyes I used to see when I looked on him.

"What are you doing outside?" he asked.

"Waiting for Seth, we have a concert remember?"

"Oh that's right."

"Are you coming with me?" I asked.

"Uhm no, not today. I'm eh kinda tired", he sad and started to walk over to the apartment.

"Okay", I said but he was already inside.

What had happened with him? He'd changed so much over the last weeks. Where was the guy I first met?

Seth's car pulled over next to me and I got in. "Hi Liz", he said happily.

"Hi."

"Is something wrong?" he asked.

"Uhm no. Just had a little argument with Josh earlier, that's all", I said and smiled a weak smile, that was all I could manage to do.

"Are you sure you're okay? You seem pretty down?"

"Yeah I'm sure."

I didn't want to show my friends what was really going on. I didn't want them to see how much the whole situation with Josh bothered me.

We arrived to the bar which was full of people, not so many fans though. I was excited to play in front of a complete new audience and to play acoustic as well, I loved acoustic.

The guy who owned the bar met us at the door. "Hi, my name is Paul I'm so glad you're here", he said.

"Well we're happy to be here", Seth said.

Paul showed us the way to the stage. It was a really small stage but it was enough for who people. On the stage was two chairs and two microphones.

"You can start whenever you feel ready", Paul said and walked away.

We sat down on the chairs.

Most of the people in the bar went silent when they saw us on the stage.

"Hi, we're Tell The Night and we're going to play some songs for you", I said and Seth started to play the first song.

"Easy on the eyes and easy on the heart

Sold my wish out

Sold my wish out with hope streaming to light

Shining bright eyes day to dream days

And I day to dream is gone what I wanna know is thick

Make you smile less

Here's to the pain, the light of the oncoming train

Come on

Ode to solitude in chains

Here's to the pain as always heaven in flames

You'll also like

That we've been

Ode to solitude in chains

Come out the scars of the heart

Wounds stand torn

Loosen the noose up

Loosen the noose with love

What I wanna know is why you keep me hang in

Here's to the pain the light of the oncoming train

Come on

Ode to solitude in chains

Here's to the pain as always heaven in flames

That we've been

Ode to solitude in chains

If  I should fail (and I will) to stay

Remember not to forget this feeling you have

I fail

Please pretend it'll never happen baby

Here's to the pain, the light of the oncoming train

Come on

Ode to solitude in chains

Here's to the pain as always heaven in flames

That we've been

Ode to solitude in chains

Here's to the pain, the light of the oncoming train

Come on

Ode to solitude in chains

Here's to the pain as always heaven in flame

That we've been

Ode to solitude in chains

Ode to solitude

Ode to solitude

Ode to solitude

Ode to solitude

After that song stood everyone in the bar up on their feet and applauded. I couldn't help but wonder if they had done that if we'd played as we used to with the whole band.

We did five more songs.

"Drinking time?" Seth asked.

"You took the words from my mouth", I chuckled and we headed over to the bar.

Seth bought us both beer and then we went over to an empty table.

"So how have you been? It feels like we haven't seen you in ages", Seth said.

"Yeah I know. I'm sorry for not being home so much", I said.

"Nah don't worry about that. It's actually quiet in the house for once now", he joked.

"Ha ha really funny", I said. "I'm coming home soon though I think . I just have to work out some stuff with Josh first."

"What stuff?"

"It's just that he don't like the fact that I'm living with three guys, especially not JJ for some reason. I've tried to tell him that there's nothing to worry about but he won't listen."

"Well I don't think I would like that my girlfriend lived with some dudes I didn't know either. Especially not if he had dated one of them in the past like you and JJ did", Seth said.

"He don't even know that I used to date JJ and it's not only you guys, he don't want me to spend time with any guy."

"Why?"

"I don't know. I try to talk to him about it all the time but it always just end in a big argument", I sighed.

"Hey, why don't the two of you come over tomorrow for a BBQ so he can get to know us all a little better, and well so we can actually see you for once", he suggested.

"Yeah sure. I'll talk to Josh about it", I said.

We finished our drink before it was time to go home.

"Thanks for tonight, it was awesome", I said when we'd stopped outside Josh's apartment.

"See you tomorrow", he said.

I walked up to the apartment. The lights inside was still on so Josh was probably awake. I knocked on the door since I didn't have a key.

It took a while for Josh to open the door. He was obviously drunk, he couldn't even stand straight. "Hey babe where have you been?" he slurred

"I had a concert, remember?"

"Oh that's right!"

"Come on, let's get you to bed", I said and helped him over to the bedroom.
