"I'm home!" Called Hinata's as he entered his house, quickly realizing that this was a mistake. He still wasn't used to being quiet, but he would have to adapt quickly if he wanted to avoid his father.
"About time!" His father called, lumbering towards him. "You need to come here quicker if you want to finish your homework and be successful like me."
Ha, successful. The idea almost made the boy want to laugh. His father was anything but successful. He used to be, but he was recently laid off, and instead of working for another job he turned to alcohol. Except he got rather, violent, when intoxicated.
Although school was important, volleyball was Hinata's main focus. "But dad, I had pract-" the boy started only to get cut off by a sharp slap.
"You will do as I say and you will not talk back." Hinata's father commanded.
"Y-yes sir." Hinata said and bowed his head.
"Good boy." His father slurred and walked away.
