Summer of Sam

Part 9

[It is nine o'clock. Paige and Greg are in the living room. Paige has a worried look while Greg is trying to comfort her. Sam comes up the stairs. Paige quickly stands up.]

Paige: What's going on? Is she okay?

Sam: I don't know Paige. She wouldn't talk to me.

Paige: You were in there with her for four hours!

Sam: I know and I tried to get her to talk but she just won't. Was she talking to someone before you called me?

Paige: Yeah, she was on the phone with Nat. I don't know what she was saying though. I walked in at the end of the conversation.

Sam: He probably said something that made her lose it like that.

Greg: Sam maybe you should stay here tonight and Paige you can come back to our place. I don't think that she is going to talk to you tonight and I don't think you should be alone.

Sam: That's not a bad idea.

Paige: I can't leave her.

Greg: Sam will call us if anything happens.

Paige: Will you?

Sam: Of course.

Paige: Okay.

[Paige walks away for a minute to get a bag.]

Greg: Who's Nat?

Sam: Her boyfriend.

Greg: Reagan's boyfriend?

Sam: Yes.

Greg: And you two are dating?

Sam: We aren't dating.

Greg: You were taking her on a date tonight weren't you?

Sam: Shut up!

Greg: That's shady man.

Sam: You barely know her.

Greg: So do you. You've known her for a little less than a week.

Paige: Let's go, Greg.

Sam: I'll try to talk to her Paige.

Paige: Call me.

Sam: Don't worry I will.

[Paige and Greg walk out. Sam walks into Reagan's room.]

[It's morning. Sam didn't sleep and Reagan is still sleeping. Her phone is vibrating. Sam picks it up to see Nathaniel :) on the screen. He tip toes out of the room and answers it.]

Sam: Hello?

Nat: Reagan?

Sam: No.

Nat: Who the hell is this and why do you have my girlfriend's phone?

Sam: What did you do to her?

Nat: Nothing! What do you mean I haven't even seen her since last week.

Sam: Then why was she so angry last night?

Nat: I don't know maybe you did something.

Sam: I wasn't there when it started and you were the last person to talk to her.

Nat: That still doesn't prove anything.

Sam: What did you say to her anyway?

Nat: That is between Reagan and I.
