David's POV.

I walked through the halls with my head down ever since Monday. Toddy's words kept haunting me. I didn't believe him. I know Liza wouldn't do such a thing. But it all made sense.

I spent lunch eating with Carlos, some kid in my first period class, that no one talks to. He's around my height, has orange faded hair. I call him my pumpkin because of his hair. He has gages in his ears, and always seems to always have earphones on. Always appears to be listening to Twenty One Pilots and Twenty One Pilots only.

We ate lunch in the P.E room, mainly because no one was ever in there and that would be the last place people would go in to during lunch time.

I took a bite out of my peanut butter and jelly sandwich when he asked me something.

"Why're you here?"

"Hm?" I hummed with a mouth full.

"Why're you here?" He asked again.

"I dunno." I mumbled, wiping my mouth, "Avoiding some people."

He nodded, appearing to understand.

We ate our lunch, finishing at the same time. We talked with each other for awhile, he's a pretty nice kid. He kinda talks low and soft, which makes it hard to understand him at points. But overall, he's alright.

We shared laughs. I taught him how to spin a basketball on a finger and he taught me how to run through a hulu hoop while its rolling.

We spent lunch time together Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

"Are you going to the dance?" Carlos asked me, as we both headed to our classes.

"Uh," I thought for a second, "I might. I'm not sure yet." I said to him, as I held both my backpack straps that were wrapped around me. "Are you?" I asked, looking at him.

"Nah." He simply said. "They're boring."

I nodded at his response, "Come with me? Maybe it won't be as boring if you go with someone."

"I knew you had a crush on me!" Carlos said to me, giggling afterwards to show he was only kidding. "I'll think about it, though." He said.

He took a complete stop, stopping me as he did so. "I'll see you later, man." He said, offering me his hand for a high five.

I gave him a high five, smiling at him, "See you later." Before he walked off in class, I softly squeezed his cheeks, "Love ya, pumpkin."

He rolled his eyes as he swatted my hand away, "Stop." He said, smiling.

As he disappeared in his class, I headed off. I walked through the halls with my head down. If I saw Liza on my way, I knew it would all go downhill.

As I made my way to Math class, someone walked by me, bumping into me dramatically. Even though I planned on having my head down the whole walk, I couldn't help but look up.

"What the heck, man?!" I barked, turning back to see who passed me.

It was Liza.
