Draco

Hermione held Draco's hand as tightly as she could without it hurting. He shook uncontrollably with nervousness.

"What if they hate me?"

"They won't."

"What if they kick me out?"

"They won't!"

"What if--."

"Draco!" Hermione interrupted, "Everything will be fine! They really are wonderful people!" Draco nodded slightly, but he was still nervous. Draco laid down on the comfortable green couch in the Slytherin common room.

Hermione laid on top of him and snuggled into the crook of his neck. Draco played with her curls and kissed the top of her head. He reached over and grabbed a blanket that had been draped over the back of the couch. He laid it over them and seconds later, their breathing was steady.

* * *

Blaise sighed as he walked down the stairs. "These two nincompoops. It was bad enough that their time in the other dorm had to be delayed, not he had to deal with these two hooking up everywhere he went!"Blaise complained to himself. He quietly sneaked up next to them and nudged Draco's arm. Draco grunted and wrapped his arms tighter around the sleeping girl. "Wake up," Blaise said, shaking the boy's shoulder. Draco swatted at him and growled.

Blaise's lips formed a thin line. Draco and Granger were not going to be happy about what Blaise was going to do. But he had to do what he had to do. He leaned in next to them and faked an angry face. He gripped the Blond boy's shoulder tightly and shook it violently. "Draco Lucius Malfoy, what the hell are you doing holding Pansy Parkinson!?" Blaise said in a dangerous voice.

Draco's eyes shot open and he flailed his arms wildly. "What!?" He roared. 'Pansy' jumped off of the couch and brandished her wand. Draco tumbled to the ground and was trapped in the twisted blanket. He shimmied out of it and looked up.

"Parkinson, why were you--," He stopped as he saw an unruly haired girl standing in front of him. Her chocolate brown eyes peered into his soul and it sent shivers down his spin. She raised her eyebrow and breathed heavily.

"Zabini!" Draco yelled. He looked around the room frantically, but Blaise was long gone by then. Draco furrowed his eyebrows and stood up. "We may as well get ready now..." He said through gritted teeth. Hermione scowled and grabbed the clothes she had brought with her to the Slytherin common room yesterday.

"Can I change in your toilet?" Hermione asked politely. Draco nodded and motioned for her to stay where she was. "Lemme make sure all the guys are decent," He said with a small laugh. Draco bounded up the stairs. "Get up, lazybones!" He yelled. A few guys stirred, but not all of them. "I said get up!" Shouted Draco.

Now all of the guys were walking about, searching for clothes and brushing their teeth and such. Draco was one of them. Draco was ready a lot faster, though. One by one, they trickled out of the dorms. Draco heard a few, "Hey, Granger."s and a "Hey, Hermione." from Theodore Nott.

Draco scoffed jealously and marched downstairs. Theo had already bolted out the painting and was racing down the hall. The painting of Salazar Slytherin was hanging open.

Hermione hung her arm around Draco's shoulders and laughed. "I'll be right back," She whispered in Draco's ear. He nodded and shivered slightly. Hermione smirked and strutted up the stairs.

On the train...

Hermione leaned against Draco and smiled contently. Blaise made a barfing noise and Pansy smacked him in the arm. "Shut up, Blaise!" She squealed. The boy rolled his eyes and leaned back in his seat. Ever since Pansy came out, Draco and her were friends again. He completely understood why she did what she did.

Hermione and Draco had decided to share a compartment with his friends, who were quickly becoming Hermione's, too. He laughed quietly and wrapped his arm around the woman he was promised to. Something neither of their parents knew about.

Draco could see their horrified faces now.

"A mudblood, Draco!? I thought we raised you right!? Where did we go wrong!?" His mother would sob into his fathers robes. "Don't come to this manor ever again. This is no longer a home to you," His father would say in his usually cold tone. Hermione's eyes would widen and she would squeeze Draco's hand comfortingly. Draco's face would be expressionless. He wouldn't care anymore. They would apparate away and move on with their lives.

"Draco? Draco?" He jumped as he was pulled out of his reverie by a loud voice. He looked over to Blaise, who had been calling his name. He grunted.

"You're just going to allow this. Damn. Granger really did change you," Blaise muttered. Draco cocked his head. "Allow what?" Draco inquired. Blaise, Pansy, and Hermione all shared a look.

First was Hermione, then Pansy, then Blaise and soon they were all laughing. Draco raised his eyebrow. He saw a flash of orange fur from the bottom of his eye. He looked down quickly and something tumbled from his head and landed on his lap.

"Crookshanks! Cassius!" Draco exclaimed. The cat was curled up in a ball on his lap and the owl was glaring up at him with pure hatred. He bit his lip and stroked both of the animals. "Sorry, guys," He apologized.

Hermione put her hand on his shoulder as they felt the train slowly come to a stop. "You ready for this?" She whispered in his ear.

"Of course," Draco lied.
