I sat in the car, shivering, even though it was probably really hot. I couldn't believe what I

had done. We had stopped at a gas station, and Sean ran in to get something to drink. I

Was in tears, inconsolable. I'd almost forgotten that the radio was on, when suddenly a

song started playing. I didn't know that song, but I definitely knew the artist. It was Alicia

Keys, one of my favourite singers, because of her rich, take no nonsense voice. It was a

new song, I hadn't heard it before. I had no other choice but to sit up and listen, because

as my heart was breaking into a million pieces, it felt as though she was singing for me,

and me alone.

Just then, Sean returned. His hands trembling as he held out the soft drink to me. He was

about to start the car, but I held his hand. I wanted him to listen to this song. I wanted him
