Maya's POV

I don't know why I'm about to walk into the library during third period on Monday. I told Josh if he hooked up with a girl then whatever we were doing was over yet here I was standing in front of the door.

"Screw it" I sigh as I pull open the door, stepping in and finding him sitting in our usual spot on his phone. "Hi" I say softly as I take a seat across from him.

He looks up at me in suprise, his mouth agape. "You're here" he states in disbelief.

"For some reason" I reply in irritation as I set my stuff down on the table in front of me. "Why did you hook up with someone?" I ask bluntly since honestly the only reason I'm here is to get answers because I was beyond confused.

"Maya let's just forget this ever happened and go back to ignoring each other" he insists as he hops out of his seat making me sigh in annoyance at the fact that I knew I was about to follow him.

"Josh" I exclaim as I do just that, following him out the doors of the library. "Please stop" I beg as I try to keep up with him when he suddenly stops and pulls me into an empty classroom.

"You told me the second I hooked up with someone that I was done tutoring you. Why are you trying to go back on that? I gave you an out" he exclaims making me look at him confused.

"What do you mean you gave me an out?"

Josh's POV

When I said I had screwed up I may have exaggerated a bit. Some drunk girl kissed me and I pushed her off but I remembered what Maya had said. Even a kiss would end this, I just thought me hooking up with some girl was more convincing than the actual story.

"Just drop it" I insist as I make my way towards the door. I don't even know why I stopped her, but then again, of course I do. I have feelings for the annoying blonde girl standing in front of me.

"I want to drop it but I can't" she sighs as she throws her hands up in frustration. "You wanted to tutor me and I was finally letting you in and then suddenly you do this. Why?"

"Dammit Maya" I exclaim as I stare into her eyes intently, taking a step towards her. "I didn't hook up with anyone. I was buzzed at most during the whole party but a girl kissed me and I pushed her off of me. I knew it didn't matter, that I had broken our deal so I pretended to be drunk and called you. I knew if I told you I hooked up with her that you'd end this. I need you to stay away from me Maya."

"Charlie cheated on me. Again" she admits as she looks down at the ground. "Ben tried to take advantage of me" she continues on. "And yet you are the one I'm supposed to stay away from" she laughs as she looks up at me with tears in her eyes. "Josh I am so beyond confused but one thing had been made abundantly clear, you are the last person I need to stay away from" she admits as she closes the distance between us, and I swear she might kiss me but at the same moment someone attempts to open the door.

"We should get back to the library" I whisper as I take a step back, escaping the moment.

Maya's POV

"I heard my uncle hooked up with Brooke at that party on Friday" Riley smiles as I sit in her room along with Farkle and Lucas. We were all studying for our Spanish test that we had tomorrow.

"I heard lots of things about that party on Friday" I laugh as I translate one of the sentences on my study guide.

"Come on. This is Josh. This one has to be true" she replies making me bite my lip because I knew this one was a lie. Josh had been kissed but he didn't hook up with Brooke. I had no idea what the hell was happening with us but I had to admit my feelings for him were flooding back quickly.
