Chapter Ten

Satarou was woken somewhere in between the middle of time by the sounds of footsteps.

"What's that?" Yorrel whispered. Even though he was whispering, Satarou could hear him well. He suspected that Aero and Allen could hear him as well.

"Footsteps" Satarou let out a small growl. The door opened, and all four of them were letting out growls in defense. The footsteps stopped in front of Satarou's cage.

"It's time to go, mutt" it was Yuneal. Satarou wasn't surprised. After all, it was always Yuneal who would cause trouble for him!

"I'm not going anywhere with you!" Satarou let out a loud growl. "So leave me alone!"

"You don't have that choice" Yuneal opened the cage and yanked the younger boy out.

"Where am I even going?" Satarou demanded.

Sadistically, Yuneal smirked. "What, you don't know? You are going to your execution."

Satarou's eyes widened. "No! I will not die!" In one quick movement, Satarou stripped off his clothing and changed into his wolf form. Letting out a loud growl, he tackled Yuneal to the ground, biting him hard in the shoulder.

Yuneal screamed until he passed out from the pain. Satarou looked at Yorrel's cage, blood still dripping off of his tongue.

"Just go, Satarou! You have the chance to escape! We will be able to leave later!" Yorrel urged.

Without further notice, Satarou ran out of the room just to run into the princess. Three others were attached to her side, and Satarou noticed one of them as Sparrow.

"Satarou?" the princess asked relieved before stating franticly, "come on, we need to help the other's escape. I heard about your execution and came as soon as I can to rescue you! Stand guard, Satarou!"

Satarou stood in defense as the princess ran in to let the other's out of their cage.

"Are you okay, Satarou?" Sparrow called. A minute later, the princess came out with two snow leopards and a dark brown furred wolf. She was also carrying his kimono.

"Satarou, Yorrel, Aero, Allen. We will need to ride on your backs! It is the way we can escape this castle the fastest!" the princess called. We all nodded our permission, holding still so they could hop on. The princess hopped onto my back, Sparrow hopped onto Yorrel's, the woman that the princess freed hopped onto Aero's, and lastly, the man that the princess freed hopped onto Allen's back.

"Alright, let's all run now! I know where to go!" the princess spoke. All four of the wereanimals, plus their companions, immediately began running down the halls towards the nearest exits. There weren't many guards around at this time of the night. The few that they did run into got trampled on by standing in front of their escape path.

"We made it out of the castle!" princess Marina cheered quietly. They didn't stop at her cheer, but instead ran towards the forest. The princess noticed one of the guys shooting towards her.

"I'm going to shift into my wereanimal!" the princess called. Satarou was a little shocked, as he hadn't noticed the wereanimal smell off of her.

She shifted, and Satarou was even more shocked when he realized she slid right out of her clothes, instead of destroying them. Her small form fell off of Satarou's back, though because of her small form, the arrow had missed her completely.

"You are a bunny? You mean we are being led by bunnies?" Sparrow asked, very confused. The princess was about to hop back on Satarou's back, but the feisty wolf sped back to where she dropped her clothes, along with his kimono. He grabbed it and was about to run back, but an arrow got him in the shoulder. He ignored the arrow sticking out of his shoulder and ran back to his weird group of wereanimal escapees. The princess avoided hopping onto his back, instead hopping onto Yorrel's and sitting on Sparrow's lap.
