Before Maine can make anymore comments, Richard squeezed her hand, signaling her to stop. "Joon-mo-ssi, we understand. We will talk about it and will let you know."

After a hurried goodbye with an excuse that they are meeting someone, dali-daling umalis ang dalawa at nang makalayo na ay saka huminto, nagkatinginan at tumawa. Only for Maine to realize that Richard is still holding her hand.

"Ooops, sorry." he immediately released it when he saw what she's looking at. "Anong iniisip mo?"

"That it serves us right? Backfired big time."

"Oo nga, nanlinlang daw tayo ng kapwa. Dalawa lang yan, masyado tayong convincing o hindi siya naniwala sa atin."

"At least we see the humor in all these, eh pa'no siya? You know what? Now, I feel guilty."

"Ganito na lang siguro. Alam mo hindi talaga ako agree dito nung una. Sabi ko may mali eh, hindi ka nagiging totoo sa kanya. Pero habang kinakausap ko siya kanina, narealize ko, it's better this way given his personality. Kung ito yung paraan para makapag-move on siya sa 'yo, then so be it. May isang tanong lang ako."

"Yes?"

He turned serious when he spoke. "May hitsura siya, artistahin, mukhang maayos naman kausap. I'm sure okay din ang background niya. Bakit hindi mo nagustuhan?"

Whether she was surprised with the question, she did not show it. "You want me to answer that?"

On second thought, no. "No, just curious, ayokong manghimasok. Desisyon mo yan. So, ano ng plano mo? Sabihin mo lang para i-clear ko schedule ko."

"For?"

"The wedding, the top secred wedding? O, joke lang! Medyo sobra na nga kung may kasal pa."

"Ah yun? It's really a big joke. And too extreme. Don't worry about it. I told you the job is only for the dinner tonight. Tita and I will think of something. She always does. But thank you very much. You made a very convincing fiance."

"Happy to serve. Paano, goodnight na?"

"Wait! What about the..."

"Natandaan mo sinabi ko last time? Iista mo na lang ulit sa tubig."

"There you go again, ilista sa tubig. Ano ba ibig sabihin no'n?"

"Wala bang equivalent sa Engilish yon? Go figure it out."

Maine watched him leave, smiling. That smile stayed until she joined Tita Terrie at the lounge.

"WHAT? WHEN? WHERE? WHO? WHY? HOW? Aattend ng wedding? In two weeks? Nagbibiro ka ba or nagbibiro ka?"

"Yes Tita, he's requesting to attend our top secret wedding, so he can start daw to forget me."

"My God Nicomaine, saan ba talaga galing yang manliligaw mo? Baka naman masyado na siyang maraming pinanonood na korean dramas? O baka naman may sayad yan? Alam mo na."

"No I don't think so. He was very pleasant all throughout dinner except makulit lang talaga."

"So when is the wedding nang makabili na ng gown? At kung top secret yan, just tell me. Gusto mo ako ang magplano kahit kunwari lang? May kilala ako sa city hall at may kilala akong judge. I'm well connected like that. Remember when I met with my college friends?"
