Chapter 1

Nolan

My family always tried finding excuses to come over just because I lived in a penthouse.

The advantages of being with someone who got paid a lot on the video platform, VidGalore.

I was still getting used to living in the penthouse since I just moved in not even a month ago. It was still better than my overly-crowded house with a lot of siblings because my parents couldn't stop popping out babies.

I walked inside and immediately, my dog Snowball ran over to me, barking happily. I smiled and closed the door before bending down and scratching behind his ears.

"So, Jerome, if my grandpa ever asks you if you want to have lunch with him, refuse," I said. "I thought that's all we were going to be doing today, having lunch. We didn't. Yeah, he then took me to the bakery and I thought that was just going to be for dessert, but then he said we were looking for wedding cakes."

"I don't doubt that," Jerome said from his spot on the couch.

I looked over at him and immediately knew something was wrong, so after taking off my shoes, I walked over and sat down beside him. "What's wrong?" I asked.

"Why would you think something's wrong?"

"Because we've been together for almost three years," I said. "I can tell when something's wrong, especially because it looks like you're crying."

Jerome quickly wiped his tears away. "It's just...." He sighed. "I went to see my parents today. I thought after telling them, they would change their views about me."

       "And I'm guessing it didn't?"

Jerome nodded. "Yeah. They were really mad. A lot more mad than when I came out to them, which says something because they were really mad then. So, I wouldn't count them on coming?"

"It's in six months," I said. "That gives them some time to think about it."

"To think about what?" Jerome said. "Nothing I say or do is going to change their mind on how the feel about me."

       "Well, yeah, but...."

"But nothing," he interrupted. "These are my parents we're talking about." He wiped the remainder of his tears away. "Anyway, now that I told my parents, I can tell my many subscribers. Now come on, let's go to the filming area."

He grabbed my hand and pulled me up from the couch before pulling me over to the filming area. Yeah, filming area. He had an area just to film his videos.

This was a lot different from my old house and I was loving it.

I sat on the opposite end of the couch as Jerome his laptop ready. He was going to be doing a live vlog today, which he told his subscribers about yesterday. A lot of them were really excited for it.

The vlog soon went live and quite a few people were already watching it. He was going to wait for a few more people to be watching, so he was just replying to a lot of the comments that were saying hi.

"Aww, so many people here," Jerome said. "I feel loved. Okay, so the reason I'm doing the live vlog is because I want to tell you guys something and I'm not sure how you're going to react because I know how much you guys love Jerlan."

I was able to see some of the comments from where I was sitting, out of the camera's shot, and a lot of them were saying things like, "Did you two break up?!" "Omg, no, don't give us bad news!" "Fix things!"

"Okay, I'll just get straight to the point," Jerome said. "Nolan....He's no longer my boyfriend."

That was my cue to scoot closer to Jerome so I was in the shot. "I'm his fiance."

Jerome smiled and wrapped his arms around me in a side hug. "He's my fiance. We're getting married. I proposed to him last week."

"I did not see it coming at all," I said.

"Uh, that was the point," Jerome said. "I didn't want you to be like 'Hey, Jerome is proposing to me today'."

       "Fair point."

Jerome looked at the comments. "Yeah, sorry for scaring all of you. I like being evil at times. And thank you for the congratulations. We're really excited to get married. So, since this is live, you can ask any question now, whether is be about us being engaged now or about anything in general....Okay, the first one is do you have a date picked out?"

"We do," I said. "We'll be getting married on December twenty-seventh. It's the day before his twenty-first birthday and the day after my eighteenth birthday."

"Yeah, he's still seventeen," Jerome said. "A few people think we're crazing for getting engaged when he's still seventeen, and he won't be eighteen for another six months, but all that matters is we're ready for it, and we definitely are. We've been through so much together and getting married is definitely going to bring us together."

We answered a few more questions for them before it was time for the live vlog to end. When it was officially over, Jerome closed the laptop and leaned back on the couch. "Just think," he said. "In six months, I will be a Prince."

"We're combining our last names," I reminded.

"Yeah, so I'll be Jerome Prince-Roy," he said. "Technically, I'll be a Prince. And I really can't wait."

       "I can't wait either," I said.

This book is going to be a lot happier than the last one. cx WE'RE GOING TO GET A JERLAN WEDDING WOOT WOOT.

So, any guessed exactly when Jerome proposed to Nolan? It will probably be stated in one or two chapters, and it will be shown in Atticus and Orchid's book.

But really, I'm so excited for this book. I got so many ideas and Jerlan is life.
