"You know what I walked in on this morning?" Elena asked, popping a fry into her mouth. She had been trying to steer the conversation from Stefan's strange antics the whole lunch period, and finally she had succeeded. "Vicki was in my bathroom. She had stayed the night with Jer." Bonnie choked on her water, eyes wide. "Seriously?" Carter continued to eat in silence, whispers filling her ears every once in a while. They had been talking a lot lately, always begging for her help. She could hear him call her name, pleading for her assistance. She bit down on her cheek, flinching as a scream ripped through her ears. "Carter? You okay?" Elena asked the distressed girl, placing her fingers around her wrist.

Her own were curled around the plastic fork so tight, it should have broken. Her eyes began to blotch when darkness took completely over. "Carter, please... Help me," he begged, his dark hair sticking to his forehead. His usual vivid blue eyes were fading, the color draining from his face. The strawberry blonde gulped, trying her best to back away from him, but her back hit a wall. "Carter." His voice was dry, breaking with each word. Her heart ached to help, no one deserved to be in this much pain. His image began to dissipate, falling from her eyes as the sun blared back into her face. She could see Bonnie and Elena's worried expressions, both of their hands on her arms.

"Wha— I'm on the ground?" she mumbled, rubbing the back of her head tenderly. It throbbed a bit at her touch, the concrete hot against her arms. "You were just staring at us and then fell from the seat, like you were trying to get away from something." She groaned at Bonnie's explanation, allowing the two girls to pull her up into a sitting position. "I don't know what's up with me," she lied. She couldn't tell them that she thought about helping Damon Salvatore, the devil in flesh. "You hit your head pretty hard." Carter went to look at Elena when she saw Stefan looking back at her from the doorway. He was leaned against the wall, eyes concentrated.

She felt my skin begin to burn underneath his stare, her fingers gently running over the skin of her bare arms. "Yeah... Yeah, I did. I'm going to head to the nurse's office to get an Advil or something." Bonnie and Elena both helped her to her feet, brushing off her skirt and shirt with tender hands. "Walk slow, be careful." She rolled her eyes at the Gilbert girl, a smile crawling across her face. "Yes, Mom." She slapped her arm with her sad smile, clearing her throat. "Seriously. You could have a concussion, Carter. Walk slow." The girl nodded as she walked away, assuring Elena that she would would be careful and what not.
