"Opposite Worlds, Agenda Alike"

My friend and I once thought of a day

When we can go out, have fun, and play.

The rendezvous was set on the park.

I was so happy that I let out a spark.

I went to the park at the appointed time,

Sat on a bench waiting while flipping a dime.

I waited and waited and let out a yawn;

I was so bored; I watched the gardener mow the lawn.

Alas, the sky was beginning to turn dark.

Dogs were walking along, letting out a bark.

"Oh man...this plan is becoming so stark..."

I lamented. "I'm so hungry, I can eat a shark!"

~

While on the other side of the fountain,

Her friend was waiting, about to become insane.

"Oh my gosh, where is she?!" she shouted;

"It's been over three hours!" she pouted.

The two were waiting for hours,

Not knowing that the other one was getting so sour.

Finally they decided to call one another

To know the whereabouts of each other.

The friends walked around the park in circles,

Not realizing that they were near--what turtles...

They looked frantically, up and down,

Left and right, and even stared at the ground.

~

I felt something on my back, but I bided.

My friend was right behind me, infuriated.

"H-Hey! Where have you bean?!" she chided.

"I was waiting for you!" I pointed.

We bickered back and forth, making excuses.

Oh man, it'll be hard to make some truces.

In the end, we finally conceded our mistakes;

We explained to each other, for our sakes.

"Ah, I see..." I listened as I nodded my head.

My friend apologized, and her face was really red.

It seems that there was a miscommunication,

So there was a bit of misconception.

We were to wait behind a fountain,

But we didn't specify which lane.

So we waited on the opposite sitdes,

Not knowing that there were two sites.

We gigggled and laughed at our own silly errors

As we walked out of the park and head to the stores.

At end of the day, we actually had fun;

It had been hide-and-seek under the sun.

But there was more to that, FYI.

She asked me again if I wanted another try.

I let out a laugh as we rode on our bikes.

That day was really opposite worlds, agenda alike.
