If You Were There

If you really liked her,
you wouldn't have stopped giving her attention.
If you really liked her,
you wouldn't have lead her on only to leave her in toxic tension.

If you gave a damn,
you would've showered her with
passionate kisses.
If you gave a damn
you would've asked about her and
listened.

If you were a man,
you wouldn't have minded her
friends.
If you were a man,
you wouldn't have texted her every other
weekend.

If you truly loved her,
you wouldn't have lied to her all the
time.
If you truly loved her,
you wouldn't have made her feel like a
crime.

If you actually cared,
the breakup would've torn you
apart.
If you actually cared,
you would've been by her side from the
start.

If you were there,
you could've made her happy.
If you were there,
she wouldn't have felt as crappy.

But you weren't there,
and you left her in pieces, needing help.
You didn't have a place in your heart for her,
because you only made space for yourself.
