Go Deep or Go Home

I don't understand the concept of dating,
because it makes absolutely no sense.
If a person wants to be with you,
why not make it forever and use the future tense?

Why give you pieces of myself
talking to you every day?
We'd be in temporary bliss
but wake up from daydreams, unsatisfied to say.

We are all in our own little worlds:
crying, laughing, fighting, loving, living.
To say that you want to be in my little world means that I need to know how long you'll be staying.

Sure, people come in and out of our lives;
everyone leaves at some point unless they recognize their place in your life.
And even then, you must be cautious until you're sure they are willing to go through all the big and small things with you.

People would find it weird that I don't date,
but it's not as complicated as it seems.
I simply cannot understand loving big,
for I'd rather love deep than live daydreams.
