Impending Doom

There's a pressure on our chests,
making our edges blur.
There's a storm approaching,
making our stomachs stir.

What's to come is terrible,
a force we cannot contain.
It's beyond anyone's power,
here hopeless we remain.

We have no choice but to prepare,
for the worst is yet to come.
Pick out black and red roses,
and spread them before our grave-stump.

There's little to do but wait,
bracing ourselves for the inevitable.
For the strong winds shall carry us away,
but for now we await an efficacy so palpable.
