"Dan?" Phil asks from right next to me on the couch.
"Yeah?" I respond.
"I don't want you to leave" he says with a sadness.
"I know, I don't either, but I have to." I say sadly to him, avoiding his puppy dog eyes.
"How much longer do you have?" He asks quietly, but we both knew the answer.
"Not much, just a few hours. So just stay here with me, and make the most of it." I say, pulling Phil a little closer to me. Pushing any thoughts of germs away.
