- I didn't have a interesting chapter name for this, so....This is also a chapter on what Matthias was doing while Gunner and Cassie were away in Ohio. Then the two years that Cassie left and gunner was alone. Again sorry for no chapter name. 😕.-

"So Ms.Lockwood I'm going to hire you. You seem like the type of person who takes their work serious. Am I wrong?"

"No, sir."

"That's good. You'll be sharing an office with our other intern Gunner. Here, let me show you to the office."

I stood from my chair and headed towards the door and opened it for her after she stood up and headed out.

"Thank you."

I nodded to her words and walked  past her while heading down the stairs.

"Is this the new intern?"

She nodded her head in response to his question.

"Pay no attention to Joey."

"Hey, all I did was ask a question."

"That was a stupid one."

Cassie wondered down the stairs and stood at the bottom.

"Look Matt all I did was ask if she was new because I've never seen her before."

"See, exactly my point. She's obviously new since you've never seen her before."

Joey and I argued for awhile then headed back to my office to continue on my work.

-Two Hours Later-

I opened the door and saw gunner and Cassie walking back into the office area.

"There you are. I'm so sorry about forgetting to show you to the office but, I see that you found the office and you met gunner."

She nodded at my statement and accepted my apology.

"Gunner was showing me the warehouse area and told me some funny things about Bryan."

I nodded my head and talked to gunner about a new challenge idea. Her phone began to ring and she stepped aside for a moment to take the call.

Her loud gasp made gunner and myself turn our heads to her and give a concerned look from behind. She knew we were staring at her. She covered her mouth to muffle the sound of crying. She hung the phone up after saying a few more words to the person she was talking to and turned to us.

"Is everything alright Cas?" I asked.

"Huh? Yeah everything is fine." She answered

She put on a fake smile to make us think that she was ok. She walked into the office and closed the door. I headed back to my office after Gunner went into the office Cassie was in. After a few minutes gunner came into my office and sat down in the chair. He sat on the edge of his chair and cleared his throats before talking. I turned away from my computer and looked at Gunner.

"What is it gun?"

"It's Cassie. Her grandmother passed away and she has to plan the funeral but she doesn't want to ask you because she started working here and doesn't want to give the impression that she doesn't want to work here."

"Does she know you're here talking to me about this?"

He shook his head and I looked him in the eyes.

"I will talk to her in a moment."

Gunner nodded his head and left. I came down from my office and knocked on the door.

"Come in." She answered.

I opened the door and stepped inside.

"So Gunner explained to me that someone you dearly loved passed away last night?"

"Yes sir. I didn't ask him to ask you I swear."

"I know. He came to me and asked for you."

She was shocked when I told her that gunner asked for her.

"I'm going to give you ask much time as you need to prepare the funeral and get everything in order and then when everything is settled come back to work."

"Thank you you so much I really appreciate it."

She smiled sweetly at me and thanked me over and over.

"The one person you should thank is gunner."

She nodded to my response and left the office and walked over to gunner and gave him a huge hug. He returned the hug to her.

"Thank you."

"Your welcome. You seemed down about asking Matthias for time off."

She continued to hug him and thanked him overs and over like she did to me. I walked out of the office and walked over to them . They had stopped hugging and turned to me.

"When you go I will send gunner with you."

"You don't need to do th-"

"I insist that you take gunner with you as company."

"I would be honored to go with Cassie."

"If you both insist, I don't mind."

-Week after Gunner and Cassie Returned-

Gunner seemed to be down lately and I haven't seen Cassie in awhile.

"Gunner? Where is Cassie at?"

"The Navy needed her and she'll be gone for two years. There was nothing she could do to get out of it."

I nodded my head in response and went to my office to work. As the weeks, months and the first year past, Gunner seemed a lot more happy then he did before. The reason behind all of it was because Cassie was Skyping him.

The second year went by fast and Gunners birthday was coming up and all of team edge was planning a surprise party for him and the day of the party, someone came home and really surprised him.
