I heard a faint knock on the door and I looked up to see Race standing in the door way. I smiled once I saw him.

"Heya newsie, hows it goin'?" He slowly stepped into the room and made his way over the the side of the couch, sitting in an open chair.

"Hey Race." I said softly. It was nice to see my best friend.

"Here, brought cha some cookies I got." He handed me a few pieces of the cookie.

"Oh Race, I's can't take dis!"

"Finn, you's gonna." He shoved them in my face, forcing me to take them from his hands.

I smiled and took them, eating them slowly.

"So, hows you feelin'?" Race asked.

I swallowed. "I's sore, but fine. Most movement is pain, but it'll go away soon."

"Where's Spot?"

I sighed. "Jack kicked 'im out."

"What? Really?" Race said, surprised.

"Spot blames himself for what happened to me."

"Well, was it?"

"No." I said immediately. "Theys were lookin' for him when theys found me, and decided to hurt me instead for revenge... But no one saw it comin', it ain't his fault."

I buried my face in my hands and became very upset and stressed.

"Hey, hey." Race came closer and sat next to me on the couch, putting his arm around me. "It, it ain't yous or his fault Finley. I's sorry I's brought it up..."

"No Race, it's fine." I said, picking my head up. "Yous my best friend, yous should know."

He smiled and I leaned my head against his shoulder.

"So, now Jack's mad at Spot because he told him it was his fault I's was hurt. Jack won't let me see him." I told Race.

"I'll arrange somethin'." Race said. I looked up at him. "I's promise."

I smiled and gave him a hug. "Thanks Race."

"Anythin' for me favorite goirl." Race hugged me back. "Well, gotta go and sell dem papes, headlines don't sell papes-"

"Newsies sell papes." I chuckled and Race left the room, leaving me alone again.

I was a very active person. Always up early, and always wanting to do something, I never liked rainy days because I was limited to a few things inside. So, being hurt was bad enough for me. I got bored very easily. All I could do was stare at the ceiling and think.

I watched the sun get higher and then lower as the day came towards the end. Jack knocked on the door and entered the room.

"Heya Finn." He said.

I looked over at him, gave him a half smile, and then looked away, gazing back out the window.

"Come on Finn, I's sorry, but I's don't want yous seein' Spot right now." Jack sat in the chair.

I still avoided eye contact with him. "Jack, I's hurt right now, and this is the time I's really need him wit me."

Jack rubbed the back of his neck. "Oh Finn, I, I's know-"

"Then let him back in if yous know!" My voice got unexpectedly louder. "Look at me Jack, I's a mess. I's want him wit me more than eva. I's wit Spot whether yous like it or not."

Jack just looked at me, he had a worried look on his face.

"What, what it is?" I asked, annoyed.

He fidgeted with his hands. "No, nothin'."

"Jack Kelly, tell me whats goin' on, I's know when yous lyin'." I pressured him into talking.

He still resisted. "Finley, it's nothin', trust me I's handlin' it."

I crossed my arms and stared at him. "Handlin' what?! Tell me right now Jack, or yous know I'll find out one ways or anotha."

He pursued his lips and looked out the window for a second, shaking his head. "Wit and Maisy escaped." He said very quietly.

"What?"

"Wit and Maisy escaped!" He rubbed his face with his hands. "I's, I's don't know where theys goin', but theys got out of the police station. And, if theys headin' for Spot, I don'ts want him near ya. They could come back for ya."

"How, how could theys escape?" I exclaimed. "Theys murders! How could the bulls let dem go jus like that!"

"The bulls said theys had people watchin' them, but theys got out at night, when not everyone was watchin'." Jack brought his gaze back to me. "Do yous understand Finn?"

I didn't reply. I stared at the door, looking away from him.

"Finn?" He asked again.

"Jack, yeah I's understand, but-"

"Kay," He stood up. "I'll bring ya some dinner in little bit." He gave me a kiss on my forehead and walked out of the room.

I still sat in the same position, shocked my brother didn't let me speak. I scoffed and shook my head. Yes, I understood what he said, but he didn't even let me finish speaking at the end.
