I stood there gaping at the beauty of the giant serpent. Its white scales glistened like diamonds. Its eyes were a startling blue.
They seemed so familiar, but at the same time I knew I had never seen this creature before in my entire life.
"Master," it repeated.
My wolf growled protectively in front of me, "Who are you and what are you doing in our land?"
The giant snake looked at him for a moment and said, "I am here because I belong to you. I have always been here, hidden."
"Hidden?" We both voiced aloud.
"Yes, I am your familiar."
A familiar?
Weren't they only for witches?
A sense of recognition filled my wolf's eyes, "So he has received that blood, huh? I have been reincarnated many times, but this must be the first time for my human counterpart to have blue blood."
Familiar? Reincarnated? Blue blood?
"What the bloody hell is going on?!"
"I am from the hidden parts of you where your true self and memories have been sealed," the white serpent said in his calm androgynous voice. At least I think it was a he.
I made a confused huh at his remark.
"Enough," my wolf told the serpent, "I will explain from the beginning. Rain listen to me calmly and do not ask question till the end. Understand?"
I nodded, clearly knowing by his voice that I should not interrupt him "Understood."
I didn't understand how or why my wolf was acting so….. human-like.
It was scary. He never acted calm. He was an animal. How could he act like this? Confusion was wracking my brain again.
I hoped he answers all the questions I have in my head.
"Well where to begin? To start off I am you, Rain. I am a part of you, your soul, your everything. That is why I am not given a name nor do I want one. As your counterpart, my body is yours, as yours is mine. You already know this but I am restating this because there is one thing I have not told you. Though it is rare for wolf spirits to reincarnate into new hosts, I have done the impossible many times. I have never found my mate in past lives, though. But I have experienced many pains before, so much so that it has made my heart numb. I am no longer like other wolf spirits though my animalistic side when unleashed, is uncontrollable.
The reason I have been transmitted into your body is because you have a strong sacred blood in you. If you did not, you would have died the first day I encountered you. Only the most powerful supernatural beings have familiars, but it is quite rare for werewolves to have one. It is in your blood."
I inhaled. That was definitely informative, but I was just as confused as ever. I opened my mouth to speak but he continued.
"I am not finished yet, Rain. I have a lot more to say, but I would like you to process what I'm about to say next thoroughly."
I nodded again. The giant snake rested his self on the ground watching me with amused eyes.
"I am over 2,000 years old, Rain."
I'd be lying if I said, I saw that coming.
