We had moved both of them to the leather couches.

If you are wondering what happened to all the blood that was on the floor, it was still there. Anna's head had missed the pool of blood by a couple of inches, but her long black hair was covered in drips of blood droplets. Her clothes were splattered somewhat when she was trying to aid my mother.

They both were laying on two different love seats facing parallel to one another.

"Ooooh, the knife is silver. The engravings on it are antique, too. How rare!"spoke the snake-turned woman, who was still completely naked, might I add.

"Do you want some clothes?" I asked.

"Hmmm? I'm good." She grinned with a mischievous glint in her eyes.

I mean she seemed completely different in her human form, more childlike and less mysterious.

"I'd prefer seeing you dressed."

"Really?" she responded with a smirk.

"Yes, really." I shot back in a flat tone while I kept my eyes at her face. She looked so amused. Then it hit me. "Do you have a name?"

She chuckled. "You're asking that now?"

".........Yes."

"My name is Io. It was given to me when I was created."

"Io? What a strange name."

"Well I'm not exactly normal."

"True."

We both heard the couch creek suddenly. My mother's body moved upward until she was sitting straight. Her body was stiff and her eyes were still closed. The she finally turned to me and opened her eyes.

It wasn't my mother.

It was her wolf; the one that everyone had thought had disappeared. I could tell by just looking in her eyes. The mysterious quality in those eyes that most werewolves had said it all.

"It's been awhile, Rain." She spoke in my mother's voice. The only difference was that her voice was much airier and more husky.

"Hello." I was getting good at staying calm and contradicting my inside emotions.

"I've been meaning to speak to you for a while." Her voice was calm and sweet.

"Well, you're going to need to hurry up. We're going to be leaving, soon." Io spoke up.

I turned to her with a confused eyebrow. Io just grinned back.

"I see," the she-wolf said, "I've been waiting for you to show yourself. I never thought you'd come out so soon. Thank you for saving him and my other self."

"Of course I would save my master and the only reason I saved that woman was because my master would have wanted me to," Io replied coolly.

"I am still thankful," she paused, "Could you let me talk to him, alone? I think you already know most of the things I'll say." Io raised an eyebrow. "Do not worry. I will not hurt him."

She smirked. "Good because if you did, I would not hesitate to murder you in the most painful ways possible."

Io turned to me and kissed my cheek. She smiled and whispered 'see you' and made soft footsteps out the room.

"Rain," my mother's spirit said, "I'm sorry. But she really did love you, it's just that she has lost almost everything and she didn't want to lose you, too. I should have never let her mate with your father. She was a strong woman but not strong enough. Rain I have a long story to tell, will you listen to me?"

I nodded. That's what everyone wants these days, huh? I thought referring to my wolf.

He growled.

"Let's see, where to start? First off-"

"I think it'll be easier if I helped explain." Io said entering fully dressed. She was wearing a plain black camisole, denim shorts, and black hiking boots. Her black hair was now in a tight ponytail.

"Where'd you get the clothes?"

She pointed to Anna's unconscious body. "Her car door was open and I found a traveling bag with underwear, clothes, and some other things. Surprisingly she's almost my size."

Oh, I didn't even notice the front door was still open. Also the fact she could get dressed that fast was impressive.

"I thought I told you to let me talk to him alone."

Io turned to the she-wolf, "Instead of telling him, I can help you show him the truth."

What? Show me?
