Dedicated to ChidiAnyanwu, for threatening me with a secret group of ninja assassins if I didn't upload O.O ...LOL
I was mad. No. I was beyond pissed. I heard that Rain had apparently left with some beautiful girl and I had no doubt, whoever that creature in my mind was, was that so called beautiful woman.
I snarled. Just thinking about her voice made me infuriated. How dare she tell me to stay away from my own mate? Where was everyone to stop him and that thing from leaving?
Well, the night guards were in their own fucking world. My father and some men were off on business. And the Beta left in charge had to go deal with some Rogues that wanted enter the city. The city used to be free territory, but we now maintain who enters and leaves due to a fiasco that occurred a couple of years back.
But really? In a pack so large, couldn't these idiots do a better job in keeping us safe? You could at least make sure a weak teen wolf doesn't escape our premises. I swear when I'm in charge that their arses are getting whipped in to shape.
I walked through the corridor passing the room where my party was supposed to be. So much for a great birthday. The party was a bust especially when I heard what that disgrace of a mother tried to kill Rain. And me trying to kill her didn't put our nosy pack in a party mood.
I still remember their faces when I reentered the room. Shock, fear, and a whole lot of caution was mixed in their eyes. I think they were all relieved when I told them that I wasn't in the mood for a celebration.
I stepped outside for some fresh air, and those stupid birds were still chirping just like the day I found out Rain was my mate. Maybe I should go for a hunt.
I smiled a smile so big, wide, and toothy that I would make the big bad wolf look like a pup in my presence.
I needed to feel something die in my hands. The thought of squeezing the life out of something made me purr in content.
The truth was we realized that I was more wolf-like than my wolf a long time ago. I'm not really sure why. My wolf, unlike most Alpha bloods, was less interested in power than most. Maybe it had something to do with me. Well whatever the hell it was, it didn't matter. I knew I was a power hungry animal, even without my wolf. I'm not afraid to admit it, because it was true.
Over the years I've learned to control my wolf, to the point, I don't need her to shift anymore. Yes, I need her to have the ability to shift, but I didn't need her consent. Sometimes if a wolf refuses to shift, the human will have to try to overpower the wolf, which rarely ever happens.
As if sensing I was there the birds stopped and froze in place. I growled. They still didn't move, as though thinking I were a stupid predator that wouldn't notice anything. I hated that with a passion. People who looked down on me, people who thought I was weak, people who thought I was stupid. I hated that with a passion. And do you know what I hate most?
I hate not being in control…
That was the real reason I did not except that weakling as my mate.
My mother said long ago if I ended up being an only child and if I had not found my mate before the age of 22, I'd be the first official natural born female Alpha. Yes, there have been a few female Alphas, but most were Alphas because of right. Either their alpha mate or relative who was the prior Alpha, died.
But I didn't want that. No. I wanted that title to myself, especially seeing that my father's pack is one of the most powerful in the world. As I have said. I love power. I craved it. I don't know why. Maybe it was due to the fact my mother told me I would be the most amazing Female Alpha as a kid and since she died I wanted to live it out.
Or maybe it was because my mother had died, and some of the other packs had pitied us because we had no male heirs?
Whatever it was, I hated all that looked down upon me in anyway. And these birds were doing the same thing. Instinctively not moving. As though I were a some kind of mindless mutt. I growled. I leapt up into the tree. Just as they were about to fly away, I killed them. Plain and simple. All three birds and their bodies slit right down the middle.
When my feet touched the ground, I looked up to see their blood was dripping down the tree bark.
Great. Now my hands are dirty.
"Giselle!"
I turned to see Tony's face. "What?!"
"My dad is still gone organizing things in the city and a few rogues just trespassed on our territory, so- What the hell were you doing?!" he screamed after processing all the blood splatter in the area.
"Hunting?" I asked to answer his question. He responded to me with a look, but said nothing about it.
"Anyway, Dad said I should get you and a couple older guards to check it out. He wanted us to gain experience from it."
"Fine," I snapped curtly. What I needed was to hurt something, really badly.
