Chapter 7

Love Conquers It All (Part 2)

Erika’s P.O.V.

 

After saying he loves me, he passed out sa sobrang kalasingan. Kumuha agad ako ng basin and towel para punasan si Matt. The aroma of whiskey was still present in his body. Habang pinupunasan ka sya, I can’t help na pagmasdan yung face niya.

Naisip ko bigla kung paano ko nakaya na wala sya saakin for 6 years. This guy has been the reason why I tried to love again. This guy has been the reason why my life became better despite all the hurt I felt before. This guy gave me a better life.

Pano kaya if I never left six years ago? For sure, all of this isn’t happening. Maybe may family na kami. Maybe nasundan na si Theo. Maybe we would be like Alfred and Ate Kath na. All of this is happening because it’s my fault. :(

After ko sya punasan, I went to his closet and got him some clothes. Papaltan ko na din sya ng clothes since ang sarap na nga tulog niya. This is what I was supposed to be 6 years ago. A good wife to my husband. Pero hindi eh. :( Instead of doing that, iniwan ko pa sya.

After ko sya palitan ng clothes, tumabi ako sakanya. And thought of somethings na pwedeng mangyari… Sana bukas, I would still hear him say the words he said to me a while ago.

Matteo’s P.O.V.

 

I woke up that afternoon ng parang may nakahug saakin habang ang sakit sakit ng ulo ko dahil sa hangover. I tried to stand up but it feels like something has been sticking me down to the bed.

Pagka-open ko ng eyes ko, I saw Erika sleeping deeply by my side habang nakahug sya saakin. She looked tired and walang tulog. SIguro napuyat kaka-alaga saakin last night. Kawawa naman ang baby ko.

“Babe…” I set aside her hair that’s been covering her face. She always loves it when I do that to her. “Babe ko? Wake up ka na…”

“Ayaw ko pa eh….” She rolled over sa other side ng bed then continued sleeping.

Hinayaan ko na muna sya magsleep and I prepared dinner for us since it’s already 6:30pm. The condo unit was a complete mess right before I slept. Pero pagkagising ko, everything was in its place and malinis. My wife has been taking care of me and has been cleaning up all day.

I watched some cartoons while waiting for Erika to wake up and seems like my hangover is really getting bad. Feeling ko mabibiyak na yung ulo ko sa sobrang sakit. -.- I was massaging my head with my right hand while my eyes were closed when I felt something hot shoved into my left hand.
