---Kanika's POV--

Beautiful wife. Those two words had made my day and my time here go by.

I was going to go back home tomorrow, instead of next Saturday because I got called into work.

I was okay with that, since I was missing my husband so much. I decided I wouldn't tell him, but I'd rather surprise him.

---Asif's POV---

Oh my God! What is she going to think about me? I wrote this and sent it.

I hope she doesn't mind. I know we aren't close, but I think we've hit the friendship mark at least.

I got ready and went to work. Typical boring work day and tomorrow, I might have to work overtime. So not looking forward to that.

NEXT DAY

"Take some breakfast with you," Mom said.

"I can't! I am already running late," I said running out of the house.

I spent last night talking with my wife, until she was starting to feel sleepy and now I got late. It was so worth it though.

I got to work surprisingly on time.

"Your working overtime today," my boss said.

"I know," I said and he left.

What's the point of going home anyways? Not like I have anything to look forward to.

---Kanika's POV--

I arrived back and got a taxi to go back home.

I paid the driver and went inside. The house was completely empty, so I decided to take a quick shower and then make dinner.

I looked at the time and Asif was still not home. What is going on? I decided to think positive and began to set the table.

Hopefully, he likes it

----Asif's POV---

I walked in and saw the table set up. I normally, don't even watch dinner but it was the way it was set up that caught my eye.

I laughed to myself, when I saw broccoli and carrots.

"Snacks," I said laughing to myself.

I went to put my stuff my down in my room and came back down.

Dinner actually looked good today, so I decided I'd eat.

I felt someone hug me from behind. I'm holding a knife and I know how to use it.

I turned around to see my wife.

"Surprise!" She said.

I stood there speechless.

"Look, I made dinner for us," she said.

That's why it's looking good.

"Come here," I said and hugged her."I missed you so much."

"Me too," she said.

I held her for a few more seconds. I better not be dreaming.

"Let's eat," she said.

Both of us sat down to eat and I asked about her trip and how her friend's baby was doing.

My mom walked in a few minutes later.

"Oh my God! Your back! Finally, my son will able to eat," she said.

"MOM!'' I complained.

Mom left and Kanika was looking at me.

"You weren't eating?" She questioned.

"I was," I said. "Just not home made food."

She crossed her arms.

"Okay. I'm sorry, it's just that I preferred your cooking," I said.

"Nice try. Now, I'm really not going to talk to you," she said.

"I mean it. That day they made lunch, I knew I'd die after eating their food so I decided not to eat what the maid makes," I said.

She smiled but tried to hide it.

"Now, please come and eat," I said.

"Fine, I'll give you a chance," she said and sat down.

She ate her veges first and I laughed. She looked up questioning me.

"Snacks," I said laughing and even she burst out laughing.

I'm so happy that she's back.

"Not that I mind, but what made you come early?" I asked.

"Work," she said.

"So it wasn't me?" I asked faking a sad voice.

"Nah. Didn't miss you that much," she said joking.

"Rude," I said.

She laughed at that. We both kept talking about random things. It was eventually time to sleep and I walked into our room to see her setting the sofa up. She smiled as I walked in.

I don't want her sleeping there.

"Uuummm," I said, getting her attention.

"Ya?" She asked.

"I don't want you to sleep there," I said.

"Your not sleeping here,"she said.

"It's okay," I said.

"You have work tomorrow," she complained.

"Oh and you don't?" I asked.

"I do, but..."

"No," I said cutting her off.

"Either I'm sleeping here or we are sleeping together," I said.

I mentally face palmed saying that.

"Fine, but with separate blankets," she said taking the blanket to the bed.

Okay, well then that just happen. She never fails to surprise me.
