i woke up to my alarm ringing & pressed the snooze button. i saw that it was 8:22 am & decided to text bryce to see if i still needed anything.
(bryce 😽💘) me : morning ☀️ , do i still need anything ? bryce 😽💘 : yeah i forgot to tell you , bring a dress. me : okay , can i know why ? bryce 😽💘 : nope , it's a surprise. me : ughhhhh bryce you know i hate surprises bryce 😽💘 : it's okay , just bring a dress me : fineeeee bryce : see you at 9:30 , tayler & i will pick you up at your place me : alright , see ya
i got out of bed & went through my closet to find a dress. bryce didnt tell me if i needed a fancy dress or not so i just grabbed a long red off-the-shoulder dress w a slit on the side & put it in my bag.

i got ready & put my bikini on , & then my cover up which was just a see through flowy shirt & shorts. i walked downstairs & grabbed a granola bar to eat real quick. while i was finishing the last piece of it , i heard the doorbell ring. i quickly threw away the trash & washed my hands to go answer the door. thinking that it would be bryce & tayler , but to my surprise stood a tall , muscular guy w dark short hair. he was wearing a black tank top , jeans , sunglasses , & sneakers. he also looked v familiar & looked around my age. "uhm ... hi , do i know you ?" i asked. he chuckled. i gave him a confused look. "you don't remember me kayla ?" he chuckled again. "if i did , i wouldn't have asked," i said now crossing my arms. "well let me introduce myself babygirl ..." he took off his sunglasses & smirked. "im Nick." my eyes grew . i slammed & locked the door on him.
why is he here ? did he follow me all the way from houston ? why did he look so different ? what does he want from me ? i don't want him here. nick is a guy i dated when i lived in houston last year. now i live in san antonio. 3 hour difference. not much , but thought it was enough. now he's here. he was very abusive in our relationship. i had just turned 16 , & he threw me a surprise party w just mine & his friends. i remember walking into the house & just getting slapped in the face w the smell of alcohol & weed. & when i kissed nick , his breath would just reek of alcohol. i remember on the dance floor , he tried to pull something dirty on me in front of everyone. me pushing him away & telling him to stop was a big mistake. he pulled me upstairs where no one was , & slapped/punched me continuously. i couldn't cry for help because the more i did that , the harder he'd punch me. after awhile he stopped & went downstairs acting like nothing happened. i remember just laying on the floor in pain , no one caring to look for me. i had to clean myself up before i went back downst-
my thoughts were interrupted by nick banging on the door. "kayla ik you're in there , open the door !!" he yelled. i called the police & explained to them as much as i could in very little time. 2 minutes later , i heard the police sirens & nick arguing w the cops. i walked out of the house seeing nick in handcuffs & 4 police officers surrounding him. i sighed in relief & sat on my patio chair. i had my hands over my face just thinking , until i heard a car pull up. "KAYLA WHATS GOING ON ?" i heard. i looked up & saw tayler & bryce walk out of their car & started approaching me. man was i glad to see them. i ran & hugged the boys & started crying. "what's wrong babygirl ?" tayler asked rubbing my back , which calmed me down a little. i peered over taylers shoulder & saw the cops putting nick in the cop car. nick gave me a dirty look & mouthed the words 'ill be back' before driving off. i started getting worried again. "th-th-the guy," i said hyperventilating. "come on lets go inside," bryce suggested. i nodded & we walked inside & sat on the couch. i started to explain to the boys ab nick. after i was done , the boys had such a shocked look on their face. "wow , im so sorry that happened," tayler said making eye contact w me. "what kind of f**king person would do that to you ?!" bryce said raising his voice. i saw tayler put his hand on bryces shoulder to calm him down. it got quiet. i decided to break the silence. "look , i really don't want this to ruin our fun , so lake ?" i asked. "lets go !!" tayler said upbeat. i grabbed my backpack & we ran out the door , into the car.
