chapter 19.

*MIKEY POV*

i told the guys to continue the show without me while i looked for kayla.
i spent 20 minutes looking for her & had no luck.
i decided to call her. she didn't pick up.

man where could she be ... ?

*TYLER POV*

after the show justin , jackson , & i ran to find mikey & found him on the tour bus.
"did you find her ?!" jackson asked.
"no ... i looked for her for 20 minutes straight , called her , texted her ... no reply. she's somewhere in this city & we don't know where," mikey said putting his hands to his face.
"look man , we'll find her. or maybe she might come to us," justin assured him.
mikey shook his head.
"what if something happened to her ? she could be dead for all we know , except ... WE DONT KNOW !!" mikey shouted.
"mikey , calm down , im sure she's fine," i said.
he stood up & walked into the back room.
we decided it'd be better off if we left him alone.

*MIKEY POV*

i can't believe she won't pick up the phone ...
im worried that something bad happened to her.
this never would've happened if that fan didn't ask her that question , trust me , i love all of our fans but personal questions kinda need to stay PERSONAL.

come on kayla ... where could you be ?

*KAYLA POV*

it started to get dark.
i was walking down the streets of Dallas , TX at almost 9 pm.
i ignored all of the text messages , phone calls , social media stuff , everything.
ik mikey is worried ab me , but i wanted to get away from everybody.
i don't even know where i am.
first day of tour was already crap for me.
i was really contemplating to go back home or not.
jessica is after me , bryce & i are in a fight , idk why i even agreed to go on tour w the boys ...
i love them but this is too much drama for me to handle.
& ik a lot of people recorded bryce & i's fight & put it all over social media.
i decided to check my notifications.
12 missed calls & 23 text messages from mikey. wow.
4 missed calls & 8 text messages from tyler.
2 missed calls & 3 text messages from justin.
3 missed calls & 1 text message from jackson.
i decided to call mikey back.

"HELLO KAYLA ?! ARE YOU OKAY ?! BABY IVE BEEN WORRIED SICK AB YOU & IVE BEEN CRYING NONSTOP !! BABY PLEASE COME BACK , I -"
"mikey im fine , calm down , breathe."
"baby , im sorry for everything that happened today. please tell us where you are so we can come pick you up & continue w the tour again."
"m-mikey ... idk if i want to continue w the tour ..."
"w-w-what ? why ?"
"come on mikey , you know why. there's so much drama going on & everyday of tour , imma have fans asking me ab bryce & i & i won't be able to take the pressure. i don't wanna see bryce again either."
"kayla , baby no please. forget ab the haters , don't let them get to you. you're better than that. please stay , at least tell us where you are so we can pick you up & you'll be safe w us."
"mikey , am i really safe w you guys ... ?"
i started to think ab jessica.
im not safe & i can't even tell mikey ...
"what do you mean kayla ?"
"n-nothing. just pick me up & ill think ab everything in the bus ... ill text you my location."
"okay baby , i love you."
"i love you too."

i let out a deep breath.
i texted mikey the location & sat down on a bench & started thinking.
this is going to be a lot harder than i think.

20 minutes later , i saw the tour bus pull up in front of me.
i looked up & saw mikey running out of the bus , he picked me up & hugged me tightly.
"baby , please don't have me worried like that ever again ..." he said , nearly crying.
"i won't," i replied.
when mikey grabbed my hand to lead me into the bus , i froze.
i felt like i couldn't go back on there.
"kayla , trust me ... it's going to be okay," mikey replied when he noticed i froze.
i nodded & walked inside w him.
"KAYLA OMG IM SO GLAD YOURE OKAY !!" justin , tyler , & jackson shouted , hugging me.
i gave them a slight smile.
"what's wrong ?" justin asked.
"nothing," i continued.
"i think im gonna go to sleep ... goodnight guys."
"goodnight," they all replied back.
i walked up to mikey & gave him a kiss before i walked to my bunk & fell asleep.

*next morning*

i got out of my bunk & walked into the front room where i saw jessica sitting.
"i see you came back," she said , sipping her cup of tea. ( lmao get it ? no ? okay. )
"i always planned on coming back," i replied.
"oh really ? then why did i overhear the boys talking ab you saying you wanted to go back home ?" she said , making a fake pouty face.
"i never said i was 100% going to," i said , rolling my eyes.
"well you should consider leaving , no one wants you here anyways," she smiled & walked away.
i started grinding my teeth together to prevent me from yelling at her.
i hate that girl w a passion.
i started making my coffee until i felt a warm body pressed against me.
"good morning beautiful," i heard mikey say , kissing my cheek.
"good morning," i replied , giving him a kiss on the lips.
"sooo ... tomorrow , we get to Tulsa , Oklahoma. you coming to the show ?" he asked.
i started to think.
"mmm i guess ... but i don't think i want to go on stage," i replied.
"that's perfectly fine to me baby , as long as you're happy," he said , giving me another kiss.
i smiled at him before he walked away.

i got a call from an unknown number.
i declined it. but it kept calling me over & over again until i finally decided to answer it.

"hello ?"
"kayla ... nice to hear your voice again babygirl."

Nick ...

"what a shame that you're on your way to oklahoma & i won't be able to see you.
unless ... i can. ill be looking for you.
see you in oklahoma love."

... was all i heard before the call ended.

i started getting chills all over my body.

Nick is looking for me.
he's following me.
how does he know where i am & where im going ?!

i can't go through this again ...
