37. Serious Feelings

I wake up to a bright ray of sunshine coming through my bedroom window.
As I squint, my eyes adjusting to the light I reach for my phone.
I go straight to snapchat and click on Cameron's story, then Colby's.

It wasn't a figure of my imagination.
There was Aaron, locking lips with another girl.

I check the time it was posted. Half an hour before my "thing" with Shawn.

Guess he broke the promise first.

I sigh with a sense of relief and heartbreak. I choose to block Aaron. His number; his snapchat; everything.

Just as I press block on the last platform he could possibly reach me, my phone rings.
It's Shawn.

I answer.

"Oh my god, Vanessa I've been so worried, I'm so sorry- we can just be friends or we don't even have to talk if you don't want I'm so-" I cut him off.

"Shawn, it's fine I ... I liked it"
I say feeling my cheeks begin to blush.

"Huh?" He says sounding confused.

"You're at Cameron's right?"
I ask.

Once he confirms I hang up.
(Btw my lovelies I know earlier Cam didn't live near Vanessa but in the time after Shawn left he moved 😉👍🏻)

I throw on a cropped jumper and some leggings with my Uggs.
Then I brush out my hair and do subtle make up before grabbing my keys and phone and rushing out the door.

I drive to Cameron's apartment block and rush up the stairs, knocking on the door.

"V" Shawn says opening the door without a shirt.

He still has bed hair and clearly didn't expect me to be there so quick.
I throw my arms around his neck and jump up wrapping my legs around his waist kissing him passionately.
He holds me tight to his body but pulls out of the kiss.

"Vanessa what happened?"
He says a little breathless.
He looks at me in shock.
"What about Aaron?"
He questions still holding onto my body.

"Just don't okay, he... Forget about it. Shawn please just kiss me" I say leaning in again.

He puts me down.
My heart sinks a little.

"Vanessa I can't take advantage of you like this. I don't know what Aaron has done but clearly you are hurting. I have serious feelings for you; I don't just wanna be a fall back. I would rather wait for you if you will let me."

I'm in awe. My heart is pounding so loud that everyone in the apartment block can probably hear it.
