After spending a couple of hours in the hospital, pinauwi din kaagad ako ng doctor. I was given a prescription of pain killers para kapag sumakit daw yung sugat ko ay ito yung iinumin. May binigay din na gamot panglinis sa sugat and after a week, the stitches will be removed.
"Ayoko nang tanungin yung nangyari anak, dahil alam ko na ayaw mong pag-usapan pa ito. Pero prmise me, you'll be careful next time. Okay?" Sabi ni Mama.
"Yes Ma. Thank you po." I said then she kissed my forehead.
"Good night." She said before going out of the room.
When the morning came, just like the usual, yung nangyari ay kumalat na kaagad. Rumors were spreading like fire. I became a third person in a relationship overnight. Kaya daw ako sinaksak ni Ellie dahil inagaw ko daw si Lucas sa kanya. Which was of course, and definitely not true! What happened was an accident.
After class, we decided to go to sa coffee shop nearby.
"Just don't listen Ven. It has always been like that. Everytime something happens, rumors spread like a wild fire. Pero huwag ka mag-alala, they die down immediately." Laverne assured me with a wink, while chewing on her blueberry cheesecake.
"Talaga? Nakakita ka na ng wild fire?" Mickey said in an instant, which made Laverne look at him, or more like, glare at him.
"Of course not! It's just an expression you idiot!" She exclaimed.
"Dami kasing sinasabi eh." Bulong ni Mickey.
"You saying something Mike?" Laverne asked..
And then they just started bickering again, like the usual. As if hindi nila ako kasama. I just decided to order coffee. Nung nakuha ko na yung order ko, nandoon si Gelo nakatayo sa may table namin. I din't bother coming back at dali dali akong lumabas. Sadly, naabutan niya ako.
"Venice." He called my name.
Hindi ako humarap. I just didn't want to have anything to do with him anymore. I hated him for confusing the hell out of me and for not looking at me yesterday. It hurts to see him care for someone else kahit na ako yung nasaktan. He still chose Ellie.
But I hated myself even more, for blaming him and for hating him. It's just how feelings work. You love someone who loves someone else and you blame them for your pain then you decide to hate them and avoid them. But the truth is, our feelings is our own responsibility.
"Please talk to me." He said.
Oops! Ang larawang ito ay hindi sumusunod sa aming mga alituntunin sa nilalaman. Upang magpatuloy sa pag-publish, subukan itong alisin o mag-upload ng bago.
"Wala tayong dapat pag-usapan Gelo." I said, still not facing him.
"Venice, you are my friend. Mahalaga ka sakin." He sounded like he was hurting too.
I gathered all the courage I can to face him with a poker face. When I was about to turn, someone stopped me. It was Lucas. Hindi ko alam kung bakit, pero nung nakita ko siya bigla akong naiyak. I felt so thankful na dumating siya. I bowed my head and just cried in front of him silently.
