Iris's P. O. V.

School got better, Jack made sure of it. He took me to every class and sat with me at lunch. Everyone was confused, but they didn't care. They adored Jack because of his music. I hadn't known this until I heard some people at school taking about it, but Jack had written his own song.

"Jack, I wanna hear your song," I said one day after school. We started to hang out a lot and we quickly became really close.

"Okay," he said. He began to look it up on his phone, but I stopped him.

"I want you to sing it to me," I told him. He stopped, looking up at me, before sighing and reaching for his guitar.

He began to sing:

"I want to sleep at night
but I can't because I'm thinking of you
you can't stop talking to him

I don't know what to do

let's think about the situation
do you think it's fine?
well do you?

you think you're always right
but you're wrong
and soon I'm gonna be gone

runnin' your mouth
tellin' all these lies
thinking i'm naive
you're in lalalala land

it started off with you
always on your phone
who have you been callin'
when I'm not home?

I asked you who it was
you said it was nothin'
I blew it off
I blew it off

and a couple of more weeks slipped by
I saw the number pop up
I thought we were fine

runnin' your mouth
tellin' all these lies
thinking i'm naive
you're in lalalala land

runnin' your mouth
tellin' all these lies
thinking i'm naive
you're in lalalala land

woah, woah
woah, woah
woah, woah

is it me or him
maybe we can start again
you're the one who broke my trust
and that was just too much

is it me or him
maybe we can start again
you're the one who broke my trust
and that was just too much

runnin' your mouth
tellin' all these lies
thinking i'm naive
you're in lalalala land

runnin' your mouth
tellin' all these lies
thinking i'm naive
you're in lalalala land

damn girl, please"

"Jack, that's amazing," I said after a few moments of silence from me being in awe.

"Thanks," he said blushing.

"Who is it about?" I asked.

"What do you mean? It's not about anyone. Just a song."

"Jack, a song like that can't be written without some kind of experience. Who was it?"

"I was dating this girl. We had been together for a year, and she cheated on me. I tried not to think about it, but then I just put my feelings into the song and now I feel better," he admitted. I hugged him.

"I think it's amazing, and I'm sure that she regrets it everyday of her life." He just smiled.

"Now what about you? Have you written any songs?" He asked.
