We're just as free as the birds that fly high in the velvet sky above,
I remembered the way you smiled when you fed the white dove.
You said that the dove is a symbol of our life that we'd build together,
It's been years we made that promise and I'm sure now you can't even remember.
It's ok if you can't, because I dream of it at night and it lives on as a memory,
And even though we have broken the promise I'm still living happy.
But I would of loved to have one day in the life that lives in my mind,
But it's impossible to do so and only the remains of it were left behind.
Oh I forgot to mention I went into the park looking for the dove every time we went there,
And I'm so sorry to say that it's lovely white beauty isn't here.
But it's ok I understand now, the life we dreamt of was a lie,
And now I understand why you said goodbye.
But then again I can still have the life we wanted so many years ago,
But I rather hold on to the distant memories than let it go.
So as I leave the park where we made our future plans I sheded a tear or two.
And nothing hurts me more than not sharing the dream life with you.
