After a few days at the prison I started getting asked questions. Rick called everyone into the kitchen so that we could discuss my being here. "How old are you?" "14" I answered. "How many walkers have you killed?" "Too many to count." "How many people have you killed?" This time I look him right in the eye. "None." "Why?" He asked. "Never had a reason to." "Well then, it looks like you can stay here, but I want you to know that we have a war going on with another group of survivors and I don't want you getting invo-" "I've got nothing else to loose. Except my sanity, but that's pretty much gone too." Everyone was quite.

I was laying in my bed staring at the grey, dull prison wall. A knock at my door interrupted my concentration and I turned my head. "What?" I asked Carl harshly. "I'm sorry. For shooting your brother. It wasn't my call to make." He looked down at his feet as if they were the most interesting thing ever. However, since we live in the apocalypse they probably are. "It's fine. I forgive you. Just don't make decisions for me any more. Kay?" He shook his head and started to walk out. "Carl." He stopped and turned. "Thank you. For lot leaving me." He smiled and nodded.

Present time:
"Noooo!" Rick sceamed pulling the trigger at The Governor. They started blasting the prison with a tank. I watched in horror not knowing what was going to happen next. Walkers piled in by hordes. All I could do was stand there. There was a bus full of people that drove off. "Carl!" screamed Rick as the Governor walked up behind him stabbing him in the chest. I drop to my knees in horror as I watch Rick take his last breath. The Governor smiled, but the next thing I knew he was being torn away by walkers. There was smoke and fire everywhere. I was about to leave when I saw Carl staring at Judith, his baby sister, as she walked towards him snarling and growling. He wasn't moving. He was going to let her bite him! I ran over to Carl as fast as I could grabbing him by the arm and dragging him out the prison. He cried and so did I. When we were far enough away I turned around and screamed "You motherfu-" Carl put his hand over my mouth, but I pushed it away. "Come on bastards! Fresh meat right here!" I said pointing to myself. "Stop it!" Carl screamed quickly whipping the tears from his eyes. "Did you see my dad?" I looked at him and began crying harder. He nodded and fell on the ground sobbing. "Carl come on we have to go! Please! " he got to his feet and walked away with anger.

We walked all day until we found a neighborhood with not many walkers around. We walked up the front porch to one of the houses. "We have to make sure it's clear, Carl." He kicked open the door, and we walked in cautiously. "I don't think there are any here." He ignored me and walked into another room. I followed him as he went up the stairs. He plopped down on one of the beds and quickly fell asleep. I checked out one of the other rooms and found a bed. Just like Carl, I slept.

"Brooke, wake up." "Wait what?" I asked still half asleep. "Get up. I made breakfast." "Breakfast?" He handed me a bowl of dry cereal. "Thanks." After we finished eating it got really awkward. "I'm really sorry about your dad and sister." I said breaking the silence. "Thanks I guess." I turned and looked at him. His hair was so, long. It touched his shoulders and covered his eyes. "Please let me give you a haircut." He looked at me weirdly. "If you can find scissors." He said with a smirk. I walked into the kitchen and looked around. Ah ha. "Found the- Carl!" A walker had me pinned down on the ground. Just as it was about to take a bite out of my neck a bullet went clean into it's brain. Carl put his hand out and I grabbed it. He pulled me up, but I guess he pulled a little to hard because he fell backwards with me landing on top of him. "Oops! Sorry, sorry, I'm so so-" "It's okay. Just cut my hair."

I was almost done cutting Carl's hair. I checked to make sure it was even in the back. Yes! Now the front. The first thing I noticed was his electric blue eyes staring right into mine. I started blushing, and quickly turned my head. 'What? No! Stop stupid. What the hell' I thought to my self snapping myself out of it. "Uh.. Umm yep. It's even." I said with a fake smile and my thumbs up. I walked upstairs to the room I slept in and Carl walked by. "Night Brooke." "Night Carl." I turned around blushing.
