Dear Newt,

That's wonderful that this man is offering to help you and your mother, thank goodness that there are some people in the world with hearts. I too believe that there is something strange going on with that ministry proclamation, I wish you and your mother the best with this case.

To tell the truth I couldn't have done it without help from James, and especially you Newt. I don't know if this has reached the Prophet in London or MACUSA is just trying to keep this quiet, but Betty Graves in an interrogation admitted she was a Grindelwald Fanatic. James told me while I was having coffee with Mary, it was shocking personally knowing the woman she just seemed so sweet at first I couldn't imagine she would betray her brother and her family name by joining Grindelwald. The Graves family have always been famous for their outstanding history of catching dark wizards....

Well, that's enough grim news for now.

Queenie is recovering splendidly, last night she received some flowers from an anonymous source, but we both know it was Jacob. She put them in a vase next to her bed and stares wistfully at them ever so often.

For New Years Queenie and I spend the day cleaning the apartment, and in the evening we usually go to Central Park and watch the fireworks that come bursting free when the clock strikes midnight. We cheer and celebrate with our neighbours and this year we are going to celebrate it with Mary and James. It's nothing big or extravagant, but we enjoy it just the same.

Have a very Happy New Year, Newt Scamander.

-Tina Goldstein

Newt leant back in his chair and smiled up at the ceiling, hearing from Tina always made is head spin and his heart race, in a good way.

He never imagined ever meeting someone like her before.

She was tough, beautiful, kind, witty, Merlin the list could go on forever.

The only friend and woman he had ever had a close bond with (well other than his mother) was Leta Lestrange.

Even back then in their school days Leta never seemed to find Newt as interesting as she found him today. It still shocked him to this moment that she could ever fancy him.

Newt sighed, Leta had changed after he had gotten expelled she was more colder than usual and they hardly spoke at all, it made Newt feel as though he had done something wrong.

His family of course was understanding (a bit disappointed) but loved him no matter. But nevertheless, seeing Leta's cold frown as he left the Hogwarts grounds still haunted him.

It was true that he had feelings for her, he had spent his time in school trying to make her happy and smile but she had never done the same. And she had always teased him about all his freckles, limpy arms and legs, and his stutter.

Though she had always said it in jest it still hurt, he would go to bed lying awake in front of the mirror and staring at his face and body.

But Tina... Tina was different. She didn't hate him for who he was, she never put him down not once or made him feel bad about himself.

And the way she looked at him... how her big brown eyes filled with such admiration and care as he felt for her.

He had friends for the first time ever, Tina, Queenie and Jacob.

Newt closed his eyes and smiled remembering the occamy incident. All four working together as one, it was wondrous.

"Newton! C'mon up dear Harold is here to take us suit shopping!" Hazel called from down below, he opened his eyes dropping back to reality.
