Ronnie's POV

"So what I'm hearing.." I say as Colby is stopped at a red light.

He had been getting me caught up on everything that had happened since I've been gone,

"So Sam and Kat were married then moved out but didn't like not being in the big house with all you guys that they are moving back in?" I question,

"Yep. Hit the nail right on the head" he said as he pulled back the gear stick and pulled into the street.

The street.

I took a deep breath and stayed still.

My body froze.

Every inch.

Head to toe.

The street where we would race up and down.

The street that held so many memories.

I wasn't ready to face my parents.

They had mourned and they need time to adjust that I'm actually here.

Alive.

Colby had slowed down and the gate slowly opened.

The same metal crunching sound was the only thing I could focus on.

I had came through this gate so many times.

This time was different.

I hadn't seen anyone in months.

What if they blamed me?

"Do they know that I'm- back?" I ask Colby.

I was so scared,

"No, I thought it would be cool to suprise them" he said cheerfully,

"They don't blame me? Do they?" I hesitantly choke out.

Colby pulls up and parks.

Pulling the keys out and holding them aside.

He places his free hand on my shaky one.

His touch felt so foreign; like it didn't belong.

I diverted my eyes to his hand, staring and focusing on it.

He quickly pulls his hand back onto his lap and unlocks the car door.

Stepping out.

I do the same.

Feeling as though I would pass out if I stood up.

Colby walked around to my side waiting for me to lead the way.

My knees went weak and they crumbled beneath me.

Quickly, Colby jumped forward.

Catching me just before my skull kissed the concrete.
