Colby's POV

The house was chaotic and full of mess.

We were packing and getting ready to leave for the airport but our plane left in an hour.

I didn't know how we would make it.

I threw in my last item and zipped up my case, wheeling it out of my room and switching off the light.

It was the early hours of dawn and we were all exhausted.

We were ready to rip eachothers heads off,

"Babe?", I shout up the ladders.

I wait patiently at the bottom but I didn't get a reply,

"Ronnie!", I call out again but still no response.

I let go off my suitcase and climb up the ladders.

Poking my head up and looking around.

Her case was packed and she was all ready to go.

She looked stressed and tired.

I started to be worried.

I didn't know if I should.

I enter the room and walk over to her.

I sit down on the bed beside her and place my hand on her thigh, comforting her,

"You okay?" I ask as trying to read her facial expressions.

She sighed deeply and tilted her head back, taking in a big breath,

"I'm scared," she spoke,

"There is nothing to be scared about, no one is going to hurt you if I'm there. I won't let anyone touch you," I reassure because it was the absolute truth.

I wouldn't let a single person ever lay a finger on her ever again,

"No it's not that, Colby" she sighed,

"Oh well what is it? You can tell me, it's okay", I comfort her as I gently rub her leg.

She sighed again then finally looked at me,

"I'm scared of planes," she said bluntly,

"How come you have never told me this?" I say now curious,

"Because it never came into conversation," she said,

"Have you ever been on a plane?", I ask.

I swear we had spoke about this before,

"Well no.. my parents were always so busy with work and I was glad because I was terrifed and I still am",  she says with some sort of relief but I could also still tell that she was frightened,

"Well there really isn't much too it. The plane for really fast then it shakes a little then you fly for a little bit maybe some turbulence- if your lucky then you slowly fly back down and then there is another little shake- that's all", I explain all in one go.

Trying my best to make it as simple as possible,

"I know! And that sounds terrifying!" She exclaims.

Face palming and groaning.

I hated seeing her like this.

I just wanted her to be happy all the time,

Especially since it was our first time away together since the time she came to Kansas with me and met my parents.

That was a good trip..

I lifted my hand from her leg and grabbed her hand that was pressed up again her cheek.

I pulled it close to me and kissed her knuckles.

Her face turned to me and her once stressed and distorted expression was not softer; more calm and less restless.

She smiled at me and I smiled back.

Out of all the thing in the world,

She was scared of planes.

The girl who was scared of nothing..

..was scared of planes
