"Nah, he's looking at me." Your heart dropped as soon as your best friend's words left her mouth after you told her that Tom was glancing at you. He even waved at you, causing you to laughed and waved back, blushing when Tom sent you a shy smile.

"Oh." Was all you said after that as you started poke your food around with the metal fork.

You looked up from your food, glancing at your best friend as she continued to scroll on her phone. She made you insecure because she was pretty and so were you but she isn't an introvert like you. She joked and played around with people at school, people adored her and then you were just there, standing out of the group of friends, listening to their conversation as everybody seem to be ignoring you.

In your Trance, Tom was looking at your sad expression. Every lunch break, he noticed your emotion that was masking your face. He want to go up to you and ask you what's on your mind but he was too scared.

"I feel bad for Y/n." Haz said, seeing Tom looking at You.

"Why?" Tom asked, glancing at Harrison.

"Everybody in this school knows that Y/n's best friend have to be the center of the attention, don't you see that every time a boy tries to talk to Y/n, Y/b/n will always come in and talk to the boy, distracting him from talking to her?"

"Yeah, I see that. That's why I try to avoid talking to Y/n when Y/b/n is around." Tom said, getting a bit angry from what Harrison said because all of that was true, your best friend always get jealous when you have someone's attention even when she had everybody's attention half of the time.

"Everybody calls Y/b/n the queen of the attention, and not in a good way."

"Y/b/n is definitely not the center of my attention." Tom stated seriously, turning his head back in your direction, resting his chin on his palm. "Y/n have all of my attention."

Your best friend have no intention of making you feel insecure but sometimes it happen, you weren't jealous but it made you feel bad about yourself knowing that people ignore you because you weren't 'fun' to talk to, you never react to people's dirty joke, you don't go around asking people what this and that means when you actually know what the words means.

You broke from your trance when your best friend laughed at her phone, loudly and dramatically, purposely trying to make you curious.

You looked down at your food your smile turning over, curving down more and more as the seconds rolled by. In the corner of your eyes, you can see your best friend turning her head to see if she have made you curious. When she realized that she didn't she started laughing again, this time sounding more fake.

You were trying to keep calm and not punch her in the face as you bit down on your lips, stopping your words from spilling out of your mouth.

"Y/n, wanna know what my boyfriend texted me?" She asked, leaning closer to you.

"No, it's okay." Sometimes you were just done with her talking about her boyfriend every minute of the day.

"Whatever, I'm showing you the text." She scooted closer to you, handing you her phone. You pretended to read their conversation and just laughed lightly. "I swear, I have the best boyfriend."

"Yeah, you sure do." What you felt at that moment wasn't jealousy but it was anger. You hated yourself for being quiet all the time.

"Hey, Y/n. How are you?" Tom asked, sitting in the seat next to yours in your English class.

"I'm... good, et toi?" You asked, leaning back in your seat.

"Moi aussi." He answered, chuckling quietly to himself, finding cute when you switched between languages. "Next time, I'll ask you in French."
