Chapter 39

Mina’s POV

I walked hand in hand with Chaeyoung, and by my side were Momo and Sana on her. I was so happy because 5 minutes ago I officially graduated from high school.

I felt so free. I can finally move on with my life and do everything I dreamt of.

So we walked over to our family who was waiting by the side of a row of bleachers and I immediately hugged my mom.

“I’m so proud of you. I love you so much and I know you are going to do amazing in life.”whispered my mom to me.

I smiled at her and told her I love her too. Then Nayeon unnie and Dahyun came over and I hugged them tightly and also told them I love them after congratulating them.

“We/You are finally out!” yelled Nayeon unnie and Dahyun at the same time.

“Oh is that some kind of telepathy?” I said jokingly.

Everyone laughed as I gave them another tight hug. I know they have only been in my life for a few years, but they are my family.

I’ve learned that your family are the people who are always there for you no matter what. And that is something I will always cherish. Because I know for a certain that there are people who will always look out for me and support or fight for me even if I can’t see it at the moment.

After a while of taking pictures, we all decide to go to my house for a celebration. My mom and the other’s parents went earlier than us because my friends and I wanted to say bye to a few teachers.

On the way out of my AP literature teacher with Nayeon unnie and Dahyun, I saw Chungha and somi walk by with their mother. Woah, she looks to be about 3 to 4 months pregnant……..

Wait. What?

How? Pregnant…….by my dad?

My heart stopped for a second and all I could do was stand completely still trying to register all this in my head.

I felt like everything was slowing spiraling out of control.

I felt like I was in a nightmare. I wanted to say or do something but I couldn’t move or talk, I was in shock.

Nayeon unnie and Dahyun looked at my expression and figured something bad happened. They looked in the direction I was and their eyes widened when they saw Chungha’s and Somi’s mom.

They looked at each other in shock and looked at me. But I couldn’t look at them. I finally moved, backwards to quickly sit down to process this all.

They followed me, but didn’t say a word. We all just sat and watched the three people walk around that would change my life again.

A few minutes later, in the distance I saw Chaeyoung, Momo and Sana walking over to us.

When they saw our facial expression they got worried and asked us what was wrong. But, none of us said a word. They then looked in the direction we were and notice Chungha’s and Somi’s mom. When Chaeyoung, Momo and Sana looked backed at us they were shocked, but I could make out a different expression on their faces too.

After a few seconds I got up. I can’t be in doubt much longer. I have to ask if it’s my dad’s baby.

Chaeyoung and the others called out to me, but I kept walking. I had to know the truth.

“It’s your dad.” Yelled Sana.

I turned around and looked her dead in the eye.

“How would you know?”

“Because I heard Chungha telling her boy toy teacher.” Replied Chaeyoung.

“We didn’t know how to tell you earlier.” Explained Momo.

I looked at the three of them in shock and betrayal.

“Didn’t know how to tell me? Was it hard to tell me the fucking truth?!”

“Mina please, we couldn’t bear to see you get hurt again. We can’t take it to see you in pain.”explain Chaeyoung.

I looked at her for a few seconds and it hurt so much. She lied and kept secrets from me. Not just her, but my two bestfriends too. Did they seriously think I was that weak?

I couldn’t take this right now. I had to walk away before I explode and said some regretful stuff. I was in pain, but most of all, I was angry and I felt betrayed. After what my father put me through for not keeping his affair from my mom a secret, they should have known how much honesty and loyalty meant to me.

So I turned and walked away. With every step, my heart grew hollower. I could hear Chaeyoung, Momo and Sana call my name. I could hear their footsteps get closer, and I knew that it was going to end badly today.
