Blaire's POV
At lunch, Lydia refused to sit with us because of Nate which is upsetting but understandable. I had convinced Vince to come with me and sit with her but we were stopped by Piper."Is Nate here yet?" She questions eagerly, I shake my head as she squeals. "Great. Okay so I sort of kinda have a plan and I really really need the both of your help." The smirk on her face said it all, she was scheming about love. Piper always liked playing matchmaker since day one, every time she smirked and squealed I knew it had something to do with it.
"Who are you trying to get together?" I question with a grunt, Vince looks at me with a chuckle. "How did you know that was what she was going to say?" He questions, I roll my eyes.
"Let me educate you on your girlfriend. Now you guys can deny you're a thing all you want but that's besides the point. We all know that Piper has been playing matchmaker pretty much since the fifth grade. Whenever she makes a match, she smirks, squeals and asks for help. So Pipes, who are you trying to match?" She cringed at the upbringing of her nickname while Vince and I just chuckled.
"I'm trying to get Nate and Lydia together. I know it seems like a long shot but-"
"No it's not. You're completely right, he really likes her. He kept telling me that at the party, I could see that he was watching over her cautiously and that he really cared for her. He's very overprotective of her which I admire about him. I'll help." Vince interrupts, Piper smiles and looks at me, I grunt and nod. "Fine! I'm in."
"Great! But first we have to get Grace out of the picture." Vince and I looked at her as if she had three heads. "Ugh must I explain everything? Grace has dirt on Lydia which is the reason she isn't talking to Nate at the moment but now Nate got dirt on Grace and we are trying to fix everything. Meanwhile I have my own little plan on the side which you guys are going to help me with."
She's crazy. But that's what we love about her.
"Okay. How are we going to do this without the two of them knowing?" I question, Vince nods in agreement as Piper smirks. "Well, my father is hosting the winter ball this year and I feel that if they see each other all hot and dressed up then they will want to rip each other's clothes off. With our help of course. Blaire and I will sweet talk Lydia about Nate and you Vince, will do the same with Nate."
"Alright deal. When is the winter ball?" Vince questions, Piper smiles. "In a couple weeks, December 1st. I believe we can do this. Now if you'll excuse us, we have a friend to sweet talk, I'll call you later." Piper says while basically yanking me out of my seat and pulling me over to Lydia.
"Are these seats taken?" I question nervously, interrupting Lydia from reading her book. She looks up at us and I almost melted. She had bruises all over her face and it was clear that she had been crying. "That depends. Are you coming as my friends or his?" She snaps, we flash her our smiles.
"Yours of course. Us girls have to stick together right?" Piper says with a wink, Lydia shrugs as we sit down. I could easily see that she wasn't in the mood to talk but Piper kept pushing.
"So how was your day?" Piper questions with a smile, Lydia chuckles. "Pretty shitty. I had a bunch of people ask me if I was okay and I told them all the same thing. I'm fine, I'm just clumsy."
"Are you sure there is nothing going on?" I question nervously, Lydia nods. "I'm okay Blaire don't worry. I tripped over my backpack and fell down the stairs, no need to worry. Whatever Nate thinks happened is a lie, my brother did not hurt me, nor is anything bad happening in my house."
"We believe you. I'm pretty sure if you told Nate he would believe you too. Would you ever consider forgiving him?" Piper questions with a smile, I chuckle. I know what she's trying to do, she's trying to get Lydia to admit she likes him.
