I know that should I should've told them that René was coming but the tension was already so high. I guess I also hoped that he might change his mind about coming. He hated the kids and never cared much for me hanging out with them.
Gil hadn't said much to me since our argument. I knew that he wasn't mad at me, he was more so frustrated and worried. So didn't say much for the rest of the time. Soon we were on our way to club.

The spot was jam packed, with people from wall to wall. We walked right of course. They never made a us a pay cover whenever I attended. The DJ announced I was in the building before we even reached the Dance floor and the crowd roared. God I hated when they did that. It could sometimes make it very hard to have fun with my friends.
Gil walked up next to me and took my hand. He knew how nervous it made me to be in a place this crowded. I smiled and we walked through the crowd together.

"You look amazing by the way." He said and smiled.
"You too kid." I kissed his cheek. He really is my best friend. Sometimes I don't know what I'd do without him. Tish, Tina and some of the others pushed past us and headed to the dance floor.
"Come girl, lets go work it out!"
Gil took my arm and grabbed Shawn's hand.
