Rhiannon's POV

You were going with Carter to meet up with Becca, Addison and the guys they had met at the clubs. They just so happened to be Carter's friends that he had went with. All of you were meeting at the park downtown, and then you were going to just walk around doing whatever. You and Carter walked into the park, his arm around your waist, seeing Addison and the guy she had met, who you found out was named Adam, sitting on a bench. Her head was on his shoulder and his head laid on top of hers, they kept poking each other and laughing, you couldn't help but smile to see her so happy. Becca and Spencer, the strawberry blonde she'd grabbed at the club, were leaning against a tree holding hands. This was exactly how it should have always been, you thought. All of you dating a group of friends, and all really happy.

Jack's POV

You couldn't get Alex out of your house. He was devastated Rhiannon rejected him, and you felt bad for him - he was one of your best friends after all. You thought he kind of deserved it though, after all he put Rhiannon through. Alex then sat up from where he had been laying across your couch, "I have an idea." "Great, what is it and will it get you off my couch?" He glared at you, while you laughed, "No I'm serious Jack." "So am I, Alex." He just shook his head and continued speaking, "I'm going to get back with Jessica and make Rhiannon jealous." You looked at him like he suddenly had ten heads, Was he serious? That would just piss her off! Make the whole situation a lot worse. This was not a great idea. "Are you sure, Alex? Couldn't you just try to show her how much your care or something? Instead of getting yourself in a worse mess." He glared at you again. You swore Alex lived off of glaring at you. "No, that wouldn't work. I have to show her that I'm not going to just sit around devastated that she rejected me. I -"
You cut him off, "But you are." "Shut up! Plus a girl always wants what she can't have, right?" "Well, I'm not so sure about that, Alex. If she is seeing someone now, doesn't that prove she's done waiting on you? Why would you push your luck with dating your ex? Especially Jessica! Couldn't you find someone better and not so annoying?" "Shut up Jack. She definitely has her perks." "This is not going to go well, Alex." He gave you one of his Cheshire grins, "Of course it is, buddy. Don't worry about a thing." Then with that he walked out of your door, to make what you were sure would be a huge mistake. This was not going to go well!

Rhiannon's POV

A couple of weeks later . . .

Everyone was sitting in this small little diner that you loved. It was one of those cute 1950s themed diners where they had the old jukebox and you ate the most delicious cheeseburgers, fries, and chocolate milkshakes. Plus, it was almost a law that you had to dip your fries in your shake. You loved this place in high school when Jack, Alex, Addison, Rian, and yourself used to come here all the time. It was weird, you didn't remember seeing Rian since they got back from tour. You'd have to give him a call and hang out with him.

You were sitting there laughing with Addison and Becca with Carter's arm around your shoulder, when you saw Alex and his ex-girlfriend Jessica come in. Well it looks like someone moves on fast, you thought. You started to wonder if he meant anything he had said to you that afternoon a couple of weeks ago. You were suddenly very aware of how happy you were that you didn't just get rid of Carter and go for Alex. Apparently, it didn't take much for him to get over you after years of apparently having feelings for you. Although even with Carter's arm around your shoulder, kissing your cheek. You couldn't help but feel your heart break as Alex looked over at you and smirked. You had loved Alex Gaskarth for far too long and now it was getting thrown back in your face.
