Dean POV back home at work
The curtain one again opens revealing Cas and I intertwined in each other's arm, of course for work and no other reason. After the grand applause from the play we go down to the picture area and as usual the line reaches what looks like a mile away. The first person in line is a little girl about 8ish, she walks up to us shy looking and instead of walking to take the picture she stands in front of us and looks up " Is it okay for me to like girls?" That was the last thing I was expecting to hear. Cas and I look at each other dropping our prince facade and kneel down to the little girl "It is okay for you to like anyone because you are an individual and no one can tell you what you want or do and no one can change that. Not everyone will accept or support but don't let that get you down eventually you will be surrounded by supportive and loving people along with your special someone whoever they are. We are all human no matter what anyone identifies as" Cas says in the softest and loving voice
" Mommy says it's not okay and I had to sneak away from her to come" " Well maybe your mom doesn't understand, one day, if you ever want too, you can try to explain all this to her. Don't force yourself or let anyone else if you are not ready to talk about it. Also you shouldn't run away you can get hurt and I'm sure she's worried about you." "Okay thank you I'll go look for her" She hugs us and before she walks away I yell out "How about we walk you to the nearest place you can find her?" She nods her head and I notify the guard that we will be taking a short break and will be back soon
"How long have you two been together, out of character I mean" We look at each other puzzles by how she knew "It's kind of obvious by the way you look at each other, I've seen your first performance and this one and the way you look at each other screams 'I love you'' "Well you caught us, we haven't been together for long" We arrived at the lost child center and her eyes immediately light up "MOMMY" she runs up to a woman with an ecstatic looks they hug each other, the mother completely relieved to be reunited with her daughter. She looks at us and at our intertwined hands and stands up to walk to us
"Why would you return my daughter?" "Excuse me?" This time it was me talking "Why, you a gay man, return my daughter?" "She was lost we would never let her stay lost something bad could happen to her" "Yeah but my parents always told me that gay people lie and they just say that to lure in girls, that's what happened to my aunt" "I'm sorry that happened to your aunt but not all gay people are liars or bad, we are people too. Just like in every group of people there are some good and bad. We are the good and in a happy relationship. And honestly that gay and straight and all the other 'groups' of people are divided is stupid no matter the label you are human and their are some good and some bad." "Wow um thank you I didn't know all this well I guess I just never paid much attention and stuff. I'm sorry" "Don't worry about it just remember that when you meet other humans and are skeptical just from looks" "Will do and thank you for returning my daughter" "No problem, goodbye" Cas and I leave back to our picture area happy with what turned out to be a happy ending.
