Human AU based on a true story from today, meaning the joke part happened and the rest is fiction

Logan, Patton, Roman, and Virgil were in chemistry class, performing a lab. It happened to be a lab in which they were required to observe their experiment, draw a graph, and then draw a conclusion. The four friends were glad to be working together; well, three of them were thankful to be working with Logan. He was definitely the smartest without a doubt.

Currently, Patton was helping him figure out the conclusion. After deciding on one together, he cheered. "That has to be right! It's graphimatically proven!" he said e.

The other three stopped, Logan most of all. He looked at him in complete and utter confusion. "What did you just say, Patton?"

"Uh, that our conclusion is graphimatically proven?" he said, smiling cluelessly at Logan's horrified face.

Roman and Virgil snickered as the nerd of the group straightened his glasses with a deep sigh. "Patton, that is not a word," he said, voice seething.

"What's not a word? 'Graphimatically'?" Patton asked, looking innocent, but he'd realized his error. The first time had been innocent. Now, he was just using it to mess with him.

Logan noticeably flinched as he said it again. "Please stop, that is completely incorrect," he said, pinching the bridge of his nose. "The correct term is 'mathematically'."

"Well, that's silly though! It's proven by a GRAPH, it should be graphimatically proven!" Patton said with a giggle. As Logan tried not to scream, he winked at Roman and Virgil. "Seriously! I might just use graphimatically all the time! It's my new word! Graphimatically! Isn't it great Logan?! Graphi-mmf!?"

He couldn't finish his sentence as a pair of lips landed on his briefly. Logan pulled away as quickly as he leaned in. Patton was left frozen and speechless. "Thank god, you stopped saying it," he muttered, stepping away, cheeks red. He hurriedly grabbed their group's paper and gave it to the teacher. Asking to use the restroom, he dashed out of the room, leaving Roman, Virgil, and Patton still as statues and their eyes wide as plates.

"Did he just kiss you, to get you to stop talking?" Virgil questioned as his friend's face went bright red.

He sat down, feeling his legs shaking. He nodded with a small noise sound like 'uh-huh' as his heart raced. Patton was covering his mouth and staring at the desk. His eyes were glossy, making his friends alarmed.

"Patton, what's wrong?" Virgil said, looking concerned.

Patton took a shaky breath. "H-He hasn't kissed me since seventh grade..." he murmured, looking panicked. "Why would he now!? He said he didn't like me like that!! Why?!"

He was breathing heavily, trying not to cry. Virgil shot Roman a look that said 'Get that idiot right now, he has some explaining to do'. The prince-like student nodded, immediately following Logan's lead in using the bathroom. Roman rushed into the bathroom, seeing on of the only three stalls closed.

"Logan? Logan, you've got some serious explaining to," he said, standing outside the door. "Patton's in a panic thanks to that, and you can't hide forever."

"Says who..." the nerd muttered from inside the stall.

"Says the student code of conduct," Roman replied sassily. "You'll be considered skipping if you're caught hiding in here."

There was a deep sigh from inside, making him sigh as well. "Logan, can you at least unlock the door and talk to me about this?"

There was quiet for a moment before Roman heard the click of the door lock. He immediately entered the stall and closed it behind him, eyes widening upon seeing Logan. There were tears on his cheeks, his hair was a mess, and his tie was undone. He didn't look anything like himself.

"Logan, what the hell happened?"

He sighed, thinking about something. "Right, you two wouldn't know about it because we weren't at the same middle school," he muttered, pinching the bridge of his nose.

Back in the classroom, Virgil was calming Patton down, rubbing his back and helping him breathe. "You're alright, Patton," he said, offering a smile. "Do you want to talk about it?"

"He and I dated in middle school for a little while, but he broke up with me because he said he didn't like romance, and didn't think of me in a romantic way," he said in a monotone voice.

In the bathroom stall, Logan had just explained the same thing to Roman, who looked horrified. "Logan, why the hell would you say that to PATTON of all people?!"

"I wasn't in my right mind, and I've regretted it for years so I do NOT need you to add onto it," he muttered.

"Do you love him?" the prince-like friend asked determinedly. Logan didn't respond, making him turn him around forcefully. "Do you love him, Logan?"

The nerd looked confused, fearful, and in despair. "I d-don't know," he stammered.

"You just kissed him and you don't know if you love him? Are you kidding me, Logan?" Roman snapped, glaring at him. "You need to stop thinking about yourself so much, it's what's throwing you off. If you focus on Patton, and how he'd feel, you'll know if you love him."

Logan thought about him, how he was more than likely crying after what he'd just done. The thought made his chest ache in a way that was scientifically impossible to describe. "I'm such an idiot," he muttered in realization.

"Yeah, you are, now go fix it," Roman said, straightening his tie and fixing his hair for him. Logan nodded shakily, exiting the stall after wiping his cheeks. Upon reentering the room, they saw Virgil hugging Patton from the side. He wasn't returning it, which wasn't normal for him. Logan approached, causing Virgil to pull away and allow him to sit next to him.

"Patton, I- I have something to say," he said, earning no response from Patton. "I'm sorry, what I did was stupid and inconsiderate."

The cardigan wearing student was shaking his head with a fake smile. "No, no, it's fine, I'm sorry for annoying you-"

"I wasn't talking about that."

Logan cut him off, making him blink several times in shock and confusion. Patton looked at him questioningly as he looked down at his hands. His eyes flicked up to check where the teacher was. He was back in the storage room, and everyone else in the room was still doing the experiment. Taking a breath, Logan leaned forward quickly, pressing his lips gently to Patton's. He gasped in shock, but didn't pull away. In fact, he melted under his kiss, letting Logan pull him closer with a sigh. When they did pull away, he spoke again.

"I'm sorry for ever breaking up with you," he murmured, looking into his eyes. "I was stupid, and inexperienced with love, and you should not have had to suffer because of my ignorance. I truly do have romantic feelings for you."

Patton smiled wide, eyes glistening. "How much do you like me, Logan?" he asked, teasingly. The nerd rolled his eyes, raising a hand to his face.

"Would you like me to draw a graph?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

Patton giggled, leaning forward with a smirk. "Yes, then you'll be able to graphimatically prove how much you like me."
