Virgil was focused as he worked, double checking the props, sound, and finally, checking the ropes controlling the curtains. Logan was next to him, reading over his stage manager notes and as well as dramaturge notes. As Virgil worked, voices caught his attention, causing him to look up. His breath caught in his throat at the sight. The director was speaking to someone he'd never seen before. He was, for lack of a less cliche word, breathtakingly gorgeous. Virgil's eyes widened as he stared.

"Who is that?"

Logan looked up, blinking upon hearing him speak suddenly. He followed the techie's eyes, tilting his head as he realized who it was he was staring at. "That, is Roman Prince," he said, giving his friend a confused look. "Do you not know him? He's the lead, and a prestigious actor in the Broadway community."

"I've heard that name before I think, but I've never known who he was, let alone seen him," Virgil replied, eyes not leaving the gorgeous man.

His intellectual friend raised an eyebrow at his starstruck expression, smirking a little knowingly. "I feel you should know that it says in my notes that you're his stage hand and quick changer during the actual runs of the show."

Virgil nearly choked on his on saliva as he looked at him sharply. "W-What?" he said with a gasp. His friend was already looking back to his notes, smirking to himself. "Why wasn't I aware of this?!"

"Maybe because I've yet to assign stage hands and quick changers so I've decided your assignment just now?" Logan said as he straightened his glasses. He watched in his peripherals as Roman waved a farewell to the director and started to walk their way. "You'll have to introduce yourself."

Timing it perfectly, Logan pushed his friend, who stumbled forward with a yelp. He was caught by something; it felt strong and reassuring, yet gentle and warm. Virgil looked up with wide eyes, seeing a gorgeous pair staring back at him. His jaw fell open as his face flushed.

"Are you alright?" Roman Prince asked in concern. Virgil could only nod as he swallowed nervously.

Logan cleared his throat, pretending to just notice him. "Oh, Mr. Prince, this is your stage hand and quick changer, Virgil Black," he said, gesturing the techie the actor was currently holding up by the arms. "During shows he'll be there to assist you in any way he can."

"Oh! Well, it is a pleasure to meet you," Roman said with a smile before looking to Logan. "And Roman will do just fine please."

Logan nodded in acknowledgement of the request as Virgil kept his gaze lowered and he fidgeted nervously. "Why don't you help him get situated in his dressing room, Virgil?"

The techie gave his friend an incredulous look that was somewhat a death glare. The lead actor in front of him smiled. "Sure, it'd give us some time to get to know each other," he said, gesturing for Virgil to follow him as he headed for his dressing room. The anxious techie gave Logan a look that said 'What the f-' "You comin' Virgil?"

"Uh, yes, sorry," he replied, hurrying after him, but not before flicking his friend off out of spite. Logan just smirked to himself, feeling proud of his actions.

Roman and Virgil entered his dressing room and the techie started trying to help in any way. He took his bags from him, offered to get him water or anything he needed. The actor chuckled a little, sitting down on the couch with a smile. "Seriously, what can I do for you-"

"You can sit down and keep me company for a little while before I have to go rehearse," Roman suggested, raising an eyebrow. "If you have other technical responsibilities you have to take care of, I understand."

Virgil bit his lip as he shook his head. He'd already checked with everyone before the rehearsal; there wasn't anything he could help with until they started running the show. He awkwardly sat down, not sure what to say as he fidgeted.

"You seem so nervous, am I that scary?" Roman asked with a chuckle.

The techie shook his head quick, looking up with worry. "No, no, no! I'm just really anxious all the time, and... uh..." his voice trailed off as he kept himself from speaking his mind. The actor looked at him expectantly.

"And?"

Virgil exhaled and spoke softly. "You're really good looking and famous and that makes me really nervous," he said, not looking up as his cheeks flushed. Roman laughed a little, smiling at him.

"You've nothing to be nervous about," he said, giving him a reassuring look. "Do you want to help me read through my lines?"

The techie nodded, thankful to be able to help with something. "How can I help you, sir?" Virgil read in a dull voice as he channeled the character. This was one of his favorite shows he worked with, and while he was just a techie, he often fantasized about playing the other lead.

"How long are you going to stay mad at me?" Roman said with a sigh. There was a pause where something would happen on stage and the actor sighed again. "Look, I'm sorry, okay? It was stupid of me to yell at you like that."

Virgil narrowed his eyes. "You assume I'm hurt because you yelled at me? How oblivious could you be?" he snapped, growling a little. Roman's eyes widened.

"I-I- you're not mad about that?" he questioned. "What are you mad about then?? I haven't done anything to you!"

"No, you certainly didn't," Virgil muttered, looking away.

Realization dawned on Roman as his mouth fell open. "Oh... you're not upset about that, are you?"

"Whoa! The self absorbed asshole figured it out!" the techie snapped in character. "Why wouldn't I bet upset about that?! You've never even given a second thought about me, and that just proved it."

"Oh, call me self absorbed? Take a look in the mirror, pal! You don't even know what happened!" he responded, glaring at his scene partner.

Virgil let out a frustrated growl as he looked at him. "If you weren't my higher up, I'd love to sock you in the jaw," he snarled. Roman straightened his back to appear taller as he lured him on.

"Oh, really? Give it your best shot! I'd love to see that-"

Virgil, so into the character that he forgot who he was and who he was with, followed through with the blocking of the scene; he grabbed his scene partner by the shirt and pressed a firm kiss to his lips. Roman gasped but didn't resist. In fact, he kissed back. After a few seconds, both of them seemed to realize what just happened as Virgil reeled back. He gasped at his own actions, jumping away from him.

"O-O-Oh my god! I'm so sorry!" he yelped, face bright red. "I don't know what came over me! Oh my god!"

He covered his mouth as he paced the dressing room. Roman just watched him with a curious look on his face, surprisingly not bothered. "Virgil, may I ask why you're a techie and not sharing the stage with me?"

Virgil froze, look at him as he swallowed. "W-What?"

"You were literally incredible," he said, completely genuine as he blushed a little with a smile. "So incredible that I forgot I wasn't actually my character."

"You're asking me why I'm not an actor when I literally just kissed you and I'm a stranger?" the techie questioned incredulously. "How are you so calm?! I just kissed Roman Prince! Oh my god... I just kissed Roman Prince..."

He covered his mouth again, clearly freaking out. There was an abrupt knock at the door, making the anxious techie jump. "Roman Prince to the stage for a run through!"

The actor stood up and moved for the door, but not before stopping in front of Virgil. "I hope you realize what talent you have," he said with a smile, putting a hand underneath his chin. "And you're definitely not a bad kisser either."

He winked and left the room, leaving Virgil red in the face and trying to figure out what just happened.
