Logan twiddled his thumbs as Patton sat down at the table for lunch. He'd already finished his, but he wanted to speak with him. "Patton, isn't your birthday coming up?" he asked. The cardigan wearing character just smiled wide with a nod. "What would you desire for it?"

"Surprise me!" he replied with a giggle. Logan blushed a little at the sound, always loving when he laughed.

Back in his room, he tapped his pen against his desk. He was sitting in front of a blank notebook. Logan started writing, letting his feelings for the man flow from his mind onto the paper. A confession poem. Reading it over, he ripped it carefully from the notebook a folded it into an envelope.

He scowled at the envelope, setting it aside. Should he? Full of uncertainty, he started writing a more platonic letter, wishing him a happy birthday. Carefully doing the same with this one, he stared at the two envelopes.

Which did he pick?

When the day of Patton's birthday came, he'd been debating between the two letters. It was tearing him apart, not sure of himself enough to confess just yet. He picked up the one wishing him a happy birthday.

Approaching Patton, he offered the envelope. "Happy birthday, Patton," he said, smiling. "You didn't ask for anything, and I did not know what to give you but I wrote something for you that I thought you would like."

The Dad-like Side smiled and opened it with. He pulled out the piece of paper and began to read it. His eyes went wide and his face went red. He began to smile and giggle happily. Without warning, Patton leaned up and kissed him gently on the lips.

Logan's heart lurched as he pulled away, eyes wide. "Wha-"

"Thank you, Logan," he said with an affectionate smile. "That was such a beautiful poem!"

The intellectual Side's eyes widened as his mouth fell open. He'd accidentally grabbed the confession poem. "I-I- I'm glad you liked it, um-" he managed, face red. Patton watched him curiously as he fidgeted. "I-I thought I'd g-grabbed a different letter..."

"Wait, you weren't going to give me this one?" he questioned in confusion. "Why not? It's beautiful and I return your feelings!"

"W-Well, I was concerned you wouldn't," Logan explained, blushing as he touched his lips. "I'm very thankful you do..."

Patton smiled with another giggle, pulling him by the tie into another kiss that lasted longer. The intellectual Side froze before kissing back with a sigh. When they broke apart, the Dad-like character brushed their noses together and spoke.

"Best birthday ever."
